Digital camera reviews of HP 10bII Financial Calculator

Digital camera Review: DON NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
Summary: 1 Stars

The buttons, especially the + button works only if you press it firmly with a pause and slow. So if you like to work fast with your fingers, then forget about this piece of technological failure. It is so frustrating to have to restart your long computation half way because the buttons malfunction. I threw this piece of junk out of the window.

Digital camera Review: Decent entry level financial calculator
Summary: 4 Stars

Although I have owned many scientific and graphics calculators the HP 10BII is my only financial calculator so I cannot make any comparisons with its competitors.

Even though it seems to me rather elementary, it certainly can do well what it was designed to do; simple statistics and time value of money calculations. I got a little worried when I read that some reviewers have found errors in the results provided by this device, so I have checked with a spreadsheet some typical calculations and I report that I have found none so far.
(This of course was not an extensive test but it built up
my confidence).

If you are interested in "looks" (I don't), it has a "conservative" air and will look nice enough in your desk. It is very light and thin and will fit easily in your coat or even shirt pocket. (The "case" it comes with is a joke though. Come on hp!. It is little more that a cheap plastic bag).

The manual is clearly written and you will be competent with this calculator after a very short reading.

My only major criticism is regarding the input keys. In my unit, some of them "CLICK" from time to time without registering anything. I have fast fingers and this is somehow annoying. Just have to go a little more slowly and check the screen, I guess! It also has a general feel of cheap manufacturing and does not look like something that will last for too long. Here I can only hope I am wrong!!

Regards,

Digital camera Review: Defective product
Summary: 1 Stars

I was surprised at the defective product i got.The display was not working at all.I had to return it!

Digital camera Review: Disappointing
Summary: 1 Stars

I would give negative stars to this product if possible. I set out to replace my old reliable HP 10B that I used in college in the early 90's and found this newer version to be cheaply made. As soon as I got the calculator out of the pacakge and held it in my hands it felt like a piece of junk. Trying out some functions on it did nothing to change my mind - I have returned it and will be replacing it with a Texas Instruments product.

Digital camera Review: Display died after two years
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this same calculator from Amazon about two years ago and have used for appraising. I like the layout of the keys and the functionality - it's all you need for appraisal work. About two years of using it the display began to die, one digit at a time. Now I can no longer use it and have to buy another one. Not sure I want to considering the poor quality.
