Great calculator, inexpensive and relatively smaller in size, compared to some of its competitors. it is also pretty fast and has great features (at least from a student's viewpoint). The reason I gave it 4 stars though is that the soft case it came with doesn't protect the calculator from accidently switchig itself on (if you tend to just toss it in your bag, like i usually do), and therefore wasting batteries.

After using this calculator for over a year I'm actually looking into buying a second one, to leave permanently at work. I found that some calculations are easier to enter, and sometimes I get faster response then my classmates with other brands (and I still have no clue what all the hype is about the 12C, but that's just a matter of preference, I suppose :-)). As far as flimsiness that some people have mentioned - well, I didn't notice anything flimsy about it, but then again, I'm not sure what else (besides calculations) they were trying to use it for. LOL
I also mentioned in my earlier review that the calculator sometimes turns itself on if I toss it in my bag, even with a cover on... well it turned out that after a while it automatically shuts off, so even though it is still annoying (hence, still four stars), at least you know that it won't deplete the batteries completely.
So, more then a year later I still think it's an excellent buy, especially at a great price that Amazon offers.
