Digital camera Review: "Old Reliable" gets a new brain!

Having been a user and avid fan of the HP12C for about 25 years, I was very happy to learn from a friend that the new Platinum Anniversary Edition had been released. Although a side-by-side comparison will show the full extent of the advantages to the upgrade, suffice it to say that I will NOT miss the flashing "running" message on the screen while the 12C performs its calculations. (The results in the Platinum 12C are displayed instantly.) Since nothing functionally has changed -- all the buttons are exactly where my fingers expect to find them -- the upgraded "platinum" appearance and (for the Anniversary Edition) the leather case are all you'll see that's a bit different from the old reliable 12C. I chose the Anniversary Edition to commemorate how many years I've depended on my HP12C, although the Platinum without the anniversary markings is just as good, and adding the anniversary touches is purely a personal choice.
