Digital camera reviews of HP 12C Platinum Financial Calculator

Digital camera Review: Awesome calculator!
Summary: 5 Stars

I ordered this calculator based on reviews I read. I am in financial services, and I needed a really good, quality financial calculator. I am impressed with this calculator and would recommend it to any serious MBA or finace guru.

Digital camera Review: Best Calculator I've ever had!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a Business major I bought this calculator for my finance class.
It's all I thought It would be and more!
First I was confused trying to choose between the Platinum and the regular 12c but I'm happy I went for the platinum.
Some people might say it's not as good because it's not the original 12c but it just needs some getting used to.
I love the extra features it has like backspace, Algebraic mode and comparing it to the regular 12c this one is way faster on giving you the final results.
Absolutely love it!

Digital camera Review: Best Calculator every
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my Financial Management class ( I am an MBA student).

Call me a nerd, but this is one of the best calculators that I have ever had. And I have used many. Graphing, financial, basic. This one is easy to use and it is fantastically fast.

It uses reverse polish notation, which can be frustrating at first but once I got it down, I actually prefer that. Since this is the platinum edition, you can switch between RPN and the traditional Algebraic system.

there is a reason why this one calculator has been around since the early 80's. it does everything! It can make amortization tables, compute bond values and it is easy to perform Time Value of Money either with simple button programing or entering in the formulas yourself.

But because it can do a lot of financial calculations, the manual itself is pretty long. the calculator comes with a short quickie guide, but it also comes with the full manual, which is a pdf file on a cd-rom. The manual itself is 288 pages, (the length of a short novella!!!). But you can easily search for what you would need to do. So don't get too overwhelmed.

Digital camera Review: Best Made Better
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had an HP-12C for a long, long time. It still works great but when I recently wanted a new calculator I decided to try something different. I had already picked up an HP-10B over the years (which I also loved), but I read on-line that the quality of that calculator had gone downhill, so I decided to save some money in comparison to the HP-12C and try an Texas Instruments BAII Plus. Bad idea. While it had good weight and a solid feel, I found I was constantly pressing numbers without them being entered unless I really concentrated. Also, the interface on common functions was enough different from the HP-12C to require an adjustment. So I went back to the HP-12C, this time the Platinum addition. Far improved speed from my old 12C, a backspace key and the ability to (if I were inclined) to change to algebraic number entry. A different feel from old 12C but still solid keys and no data entry errors. Definitely worth the price!

Digital camera Review: Best financial calc ever...
Summary: 5 Stars

Except the scientific 48sx from HP; but for business use and portability the 12c is the best. It is not the cheapest in the market but you are paying for what you are getting - top of the line financial calculator.

Highly recommended for business students and anybody in the financial or real estate field.
