Digital camera reviews of HP 45 Black Ink Cartridge in Retail PackagingDigital camera Review: Printer Cartridges? What printer Cartridges? Summary: 1 Stars
I received a printer refill kit. NO CARTRIDGES WERE SENT. I wanted the cartridges not the refill kit. AND I ORDERED TWO OF THEM!!!
Digital camera Review: Quality of the real thing at a price Summary: 4 Stars
The manufacturer says to use their ink in their printer. Of course they are. Is it for a real reason, or just so they can make more money? I don't know. I go with the real thing, and haven't had any problems. Probably wouldn't have any with refills or generic brands, but the differance in price doesn't make the experiment worthwhile to me.
Digital camera Review: Quality product Summary: 5 Stars
I am so pleased to have a cartridge for my black ink jet portion of my printer. Delivery was swift and the product excellent.
Digital camera Review: Refill Kit from Dataproducts works Summary: 4 Stars
I agree with some of the reviews that the cartridges don't last very long and are expensive. I tried a refill product from Dataproducts for both b&w (51629A)and color cartridges (51649A). Both work well. I didn't trust the cover for the color refill and used the old one by attaching it with tape. Works fine so far. Hope this helps.
Digital camera Review: Reliable though pricey Summary: 4 Stars
Buying new ink cartridges does cost, especially ones designed like these that have the print heads part of the cartridge. The upside is, that unlike refills or inkjet cartridges where the print heads were part of the printer, you get new print heads with every cartridge change. Amazon's prices tend to be better than most so if you're just looking for new cartridges for your HP printer that uses them, you're in the right place. If you're comparing ink replacement costs versus replacing your printer altogether, reliability and your own actual needs should be the factors. Many of the HP printers that used these cartridges were highly reliable with minimal maintenance. If you're not having any problems with it and it meets your needs, run it until it stops is my opinion. Mine's been going strong for more than a decade if I'm remember the purchase year right... but it was a long long time ago. Your mileage may vary.
