hen you first install the cartridge, the printer automatically consumes unnecessary ink by printing a test page with massive wide lines of ink. HP Printers consume more ink in less time than any other printer on the market! I would recommend dropping this INK GUZZLER in the circular file and purchasing the I860 Canon Printer (Consumer Report Best Buy) for more economical printing and better results overall.Digital camera Review: Ink quality is great but...

If you go into your preferences before you print and select fast/economical
printing, this will last you alot longer.
I have been using this item for years and I print several pages daily, Switching
to the fast/economical option more than doubles the life of this ink

I've had nothing but problems with second sources and refills. For just a few dollars more, my printers work trouble free when I use only OEM inks.
