This HP deskjet was initially picked to replace one which suddenly went belly-up and used the same numbers of cartridges, of which we had several spare- more money in cartridges tha a new printer would cost. Turns out that this purchase of convenience was one of the best ever. This printer is fast, efficient, the software and hard/soft connections smoother. In all regards this printer is well worth the price, and that was much lower than I thought it would be.Digital camera Review: Great and easy to use

Bought this printer to use while deployed out of the US. I just needed a basic printer that would last me a year. I find the print quality to be better than I expected it to be and it can churn it out pretty quickly if you put it on the low quality setting. It is also very quiet. Don't know if it will stay that way but so far so good. One bad thing: it sucks down those black ink cartridges faster than you would think it would. For someone just needing a basic printer though with good print quality this should fit the bill.Digital camera Review: Great little printer

I purchased this printer in April, and it is now October, so I believe that is ample time to provide an accurate review. With that being said, if you need a printer, not all of the photo printing, fax, scanning, etc stuff that most printers come with this is your printer. As stated by others, this printer doesn't come with a black cartridge, or a printer cable. The printer cable shouldn't be an issue for most. If you've previously owned a printer you should already have this. If not, order one online for about $5(including shipping, just look around) and you'll be set. I've never used an HP cartridge in this printer, well except the color cartridge it came with, which is still loaded, and this printer prints fine. I print almost on a daily basis between shipping labels and coupons and this printer has held up. I really can't say anything bad about this printer as it was what I expected and does the job properly.
