I got this printer to hook up to my Mac. I eats up ink and constantly shreds my checks. The paper jams constantly and it is just aggravating. I can't believe the positive reviews this thing got. I've used HP printers for 12 years and they have always been my preference. I used to spend maybe $200 on ink a year and I printed out thousands of pages of photos on top of text. I bought this D4260 for $39 and have been paying for my bargain find ever since. I've spent over $300 on ink since December and all I have printed out are about 400 postage labels and my income tax. I just drew my last straw; I installed a tricolor two days ago, have printed out 15 pages with a bit of red in them, hardly any at all, and already it is low on ink.Digital camera Review: good printer for the price

I have worn out many printers at home and I expect to burn this one out too. I refuse to buy a high buck model since I can get printers like these for cheap and use them at least two years before they wear out. There is no guarantee a more expensive printer wouldn't burn out in that time either. Plus I did not want an all in one since I already have a scanner. I use it simply to print documents, have not tried pictures yet, but I am pleased. It is not super fast but I didn't need a fast one. It is efficient and quiet. Easy to hook up, easy to install the software, fairly quiet, and the ink cartridges are reasonably priced. All in all I am happy with the product, and will likely stick with HP products. Was looking into a Canon but this was better priced and available for immediate shipment. It came quickly and I had it set up within an hour. I would recommend this to someone who does not print often as it is worth the money. I would recommend this to someone who prints a lot and is not afraid to take a chance with a less expensive model and risk earlier wear and tear over a more expensive model.Digital camera Review: nice!

Sharing a printer with 5 other people at work was not ideal so I bought this printer for myself. My coworkers are jealous and can't believe how cheap it cost me. I love the look and doesn't take up a lot of space. It's (only) been 4 weeks and it's working great - crisp and clean printing. Unfortunately, I already need to replace the black ink cartridge - it doesn't seem to waste ink during printings so I hope this short life span of cartridges doesn't continue.
