Digital camera Review: Cannot beat the price. Sometimes.

Get it! Soon, you may have a difficulty to get one, however.
Generally, after my 3 previous experiences with HP printers, I sort of distrust the HP, but needed to replace our printer No. 4 (yes, I use four printers for various jobs, at the same time.)
Specs for D4260 were quite impressive, so I decided to get one and found a good price. It is a surprisingly fast and good machine, so ten days later I ordered another one, for my wife's laptop.
Get the D4260 if you can get it for a price, between $39.00-$55.00. For this price, it's an extremely fast and good printer that slightly changed my original distrust in present-day quality and reliability of medium or low priced HP printers.
After some four weeks, it works flawlessly, printing emails and/or Internet news items and MS Word documents. For more specialized jobs, I use three Epsons, anyhow. Just install only basic "must-have" software (drivers). The rest on CD is more like a spam that may annoy you sooner or later.
Since we have two identical machines now, I can even better utilize those quite expensive print cartridges, too.
Chances are that the HP will or has already replaced this model with almost identical model(s), but for a steeper price and with different cartridge types (just to "demonstrate" a difference.)Corporate decision-makers are never happy discovering that they produced, unintentionally, merchandise for a price that is "too-good-to-be-true."
But be aware that some unscrupulous dealers out there want you to sell the HP4260 for a price as high as $150.00. My HP D4260 is fast and reliable(so far); one nice machine! Get it!
Digital camera Review: Does not work with Apple Mac wirelessly or over network - avoid

While this does work if you with an Apple if you plug it in directly with the USB cable, it does not work with Airport Express wireless networking. It also doesn't work if you try to print from your mac if it is shared on a Windows based computer. The mac will see it, even recognize the driver it needs (when plugged into the Airport) but when it comes time to print, errors. I tried it every which way, including with the Gutenprint gimp drivers. HP Could have designed this to work, but they chose not too.Digital camera Review: Don't Waste Your Money

Don't waste your money. This thing worked fine for 2 months on Windows XP and then started acting up after a security update blocked the annoying web information designed to sell you more products. Tech support was no help at all and I've wasted four days, 8 restarts, and 3 reinstalls. HP clearly wrote software beneficial only to them to sell more products. There is no way to set it function without the bloatware. I'm currently searching for a new printer as I've wasted too much time and money, including new ink cartridges.Digital camera Review: Economical and efficient

This printer is easy to operate and prints wonderfully!
I have one computer hard wired to it and my other computer using it as a network printer. The quality it excellent. Worth every penny!

Had for 2-3 weeks, no problems. Quiet, effective. Ink usage much more efficient than the 4100 series that this replaces. Software's fairly user-friendly. Only complaint is that it didn't specifically say in the description (or maybe it was there but hidden) that there was no usb cord. The fact that it didn't come with a cord isn't a problem, but it would've been nice to know about that beforehand. Otherwise, no complaints, excellent product, always been a fan of hp printers.
