Digital camera Review: HPD4260 Failed to create vibrant color crisp photo copies
Summary: 1 Stars

HPD 4260 Deskjet Printer does not create crisp photo copies, and the color is dull. I have several HP printers, but would not buy this one again. I bought a Canon and it does what the HPD 4260 failed to do. I am trying to resolve this matter with HP tech support, but the help has been poor, and all I get is the suggestion to buy a higher priced HP printer.

Digital camera Review: How Simple is Simple
Summary: 5 Stars

My old 832C died a horrible death after 10 years of loyal service halfway through a project. I had to have a replacement and now. Amazon shipped this in two days. I don't need a billion dollar printer that reads my mind and I already have a flatbed scanner. All I needed was a simple printer that fits on my desk and prints fairly simple documents in reasonable time. The 4260 is just that.

Digital camera Review: Hunk of Junk
Summary: 1 Stars

This printer has really poor quality photos. Their website says it creates "beautiful, crisp, clear" photos, but this is a classical example of false advertising. When I called HP about it they just said I should have bought a more expensive printer. The quality of the photos is so poor you can barely even make out the image half the time because it's dark and blotchy. I sent them a scanned copy of the photos and they said this is normal. I can't believe they lie like that - outright on their website. Also, their customer service sucks. I had to call numerous times because I was either hung up on or they transferred me up to 7 times before just having to give up and try again later. It's like they're intentionally sending you in circles. And, the heavy Indian accents are enough to give you a major migraine.SERIOUSLY.You have to focus really hard just to try and make out what they are saying. Don't waste your money with HP. Try Canon or Mac instead. I have had similar problems with Dell.

Digital camera Review: I Loathe This Printer
Summary: 2 Stars

What I want is what I used to get from HP -- a printer I could send a document to, walk away, and come back to find it printed in a few minutes. I can't do that with this one. It requires CONSTANT babysitting and troubleshooting. Almost every single time I send a document to print there's some kind of issue, OR (due to the minimal paper holding capacity) it runs out of paper and THEN there's an issue. When it runs out getting the software to deal with the situation is a nightmare, and in the end it's just WAY too much of a hassle to deal with this machine. I knew I should have gotten an Epson, and in fact I'm going to chuck this (even though it works fine) for an Epson. It prints okay (though the ink tends to bleed), but it's just a time consuming nighmare to have to troubleshoot ALL THE TIME in daily use, and the software is so poorly designed that it's a super hassle even to do something simple like print in draft quality (hey, this helps HP sell more expensive ink cartridges that way, right?). This is the worst ever, and my housemate's Epson just works absolutely fine and trouble free without ANY of the hassles of this HP printer.

You might also want to note that HP ships this printer with ink cartridges that run out fairly quickly so you have to go buy replacements fairly quickly. Add that to the price. The replacements last much longer than the originals even though they have the same numbers, so clearly HP is doing this intentionally. I find that to be a very shady business practice. The point is when you see this selling for $70 or whatever, just know that within a month you will be spending another $60 or so on inkjet cartridges, and that affects the price!

Get an Epson. You'll be so much happier.

Digital camera Review: It Has A Lot to Say
Summary: 2 Stars

The good side: it prints easily and the quality is very good.

The bad side: It uses an incredible amount of ink. If you run a small business this is not the printer for you. You will constantly be buying ink cartridges.

It also constantly gives you messages. I just want the printer to run in the background - I don't even want to know it's there. If you are running out of ink, this thing will remind you every time you turn on the computer, try to print something, over and over again. It is really annoying.
