This is a very good printer. I had one of this model for a few years but it malfunctioned eventually, as happens with lower cost printers. I ordered this replacement on amazon as it is no longer available new from the manufacturer. It was out-of-stock with two I placed orders. Finally got one,(new) however. All handling by amazon was swift and proper regarding billing and credits and delivery. I am well satisfied with the product, and the services of amazon and associates was highly satisfactory.Digital camera Review: Cheap and reliable

When I got it, it looked like a storage box. When I tryed to print, it made all kind of loud noises and the paper jamed continuosly. Many carriage stalled message error. Very poor paper load mechanism. Don't buy it. I returned mine for refund and got me the Epson CX8400. Now I'm happy!!!Digital camera Review: Cheap, buggy, and eats ink cartridges

My business printer died Monday and I needed something to print with immediately so I ran out and picked up one of these while I waited for next-day delivery of a Canon Pro9000. Bought this because it was on sale & cheap.
Installation is horrific - took about 30 minutes on a computer with loads of RAM and then it said there was an error and I needed to uninstall and start over. It worked fine so I did my work and then uninstalled (getting an error message on uninstalling) and re-installed - still an error that the software said would require a phone call to support - like I need to waste more of my time doing that. Printer still worked so I left the second install alone. After 2 days of using it to print documents (no photos) the black ink ran out - the cartridges are TINY.
Big new Canon printer installed in under 10 minutes including Photoshop and Adobe tools. Now this little HP will sit on a shelf until there's an emergency - or until I need a scanner or printer for my laptop.
Bottom line is that this is good only for very light use (as you might expect for the price) and take a look at the ink costs before you buy. And don't forget to buy a USB cable if you don't have a spare.

HP Deskjet F4180 All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Copier (CB584A#A2L) Bought this to go with my new computer about a month ago. Liked the price and after reading many reviews on many similar makes and models, picked this one. My new computer has Vista and I had no trouble getting the software to load and everything going smoothly. Use is for personal home, so it doesn't get daily workout. It is a bit on the noisy side but I'll live with that. For a light-duty home-use printer, scanner, copier, the print quality is good. You'll have to buy the USB cord as it doesn't come with the printer...???
