I found this printer to be great. The response from my mac to the printer is kinda slow but other than that it is great. I scan my pictures straight to iPhoto. Making a copy is as easy as pressing one button, which is great for my mom who doesn't know much about computers.Digital camera Review: Great Performer, Great Price!

A nifty, small-footprint, multi-capable machine...and at a bargain price.
Installation and set-up was darned-near transparent (even with Windows Vista Home Premium) - this thing was up and running in no time without a single glitch.
The ink cartridges are tiny, and rather than purchasing new carts every six months (as with our HP 4215) we buy them every 3 to 4 months now...BUT, they cost a lot less than the carts for the other printer.
Print quality is what you'd expect: not as good as the cheapest laser when printing strictly black text, and as good as other HP injket products when printing color. No complaints.
There are features we haven't even used yet with this machine, but it's worked fine for basic copying and printing of text.
Bottom line: highly-recommended, given the terrific price. You won't find anything better for less money.

Great value and performance for the dollar. I am in Iraq and initally wanted a scanner for my Army documents. A battle buddy suggested this item. I looked it up online at Amazon and felt it met my needs and then some. And, for the price I felt I could take a flyer. I give it a definite 5. Loading the software was easy. The scanning is easy. The copying and printing is great. My copies are clear, neat, quality printing, good color and photo printing on 20 paper is really very good. I have printed some pictures and sent some to those who do not yet have computer savvy. This is an excellent affordable Printer/Scanner/Copier for any environment. I had recently been looking to consolidate some of my office tools (Scanner,copier, printer etc.) to make some much needed room and decided on HP Deskjet F4180 as an upgrade. For the price it doesn't get any better, the scanner is of exceptional quality and produces crisp clear picture. The printer is quick to print and easy to load up with ink and paper. The copier has a little bit of warm up time needed from when you push the "copy" button to when it actually prints out the copy. Over all I am extremly pleased with my purchase and reccomend it to anyone looking to upgrade or consolidate their equiptment.Digital camera Review: Great device, horrible software/driver

So I'm sitting here with this nice-looking all-in-one printer that looks wonderful, prints and copies nicely, BUT just refuses to work with my computer because the installation software won't even run!
I've tried all three possibilities HP suggested, disabled all non-Microsoft services, turned on EVERY service available (just to make sure it wasn't some weird service turned off), and even tried to get the driver to install, yet nothing. It even seems like HP went cryptic with their driver set, havin g files scattered all over the package, etc to make sure that it would only install through their installer, WHICH DOES NOT WORK WITH VISTA!
