Digital camera Review: Don't buy HP
Summary: 1 Stars

This unit worked just fine until one day it just quit for some unknown reason. Knowing that I would probably be on the phone with HP for quite a while, which I was too busy to do, I shut the unit down and used my other printer. It stayed dormant for quite a while until the day came when I had time to call HP for help.HP TOLD ME THAT THE PRINTER WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY THREE WEEKS AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT TALK TO ME UNLESS I PAID SOME $40 OR SO !!!! I refused of course.I now own a very expensive boat anchor. And with a whole new set of HP inks.

I will buy a Brother color printer now SINCE BROTHER OFFERS LIFETIME TELEPHONE SUPPORT ON THEIR PRODUCTS. AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM HP AGAIN !!

Digital camera Review: Don't walk, run away from this printer
Summary: 1 Stars

Bought this printer in June '08. As the title says. After 800 pages, the black/yellow printhead died. Went through the HP recommended fix to no avail. Call HP support (Philippines)and they won't even talk to you after warranty expires. Tried to explain that there were only 800 pages, but they didn't care. Called HP in Palo Alto, CA and was advised that the printheads have a separate warranty printed on them. HP FedEx'ed the printhead, installed the printhead and the printer printed ten pages before, and guess what? The black/yellow printhead light is again blinking. Again go through the HP recommended fix to no avail. Now the blue/red printhead is flashing instead of the black/yellow. Try the fix again, the blue/red printhead light is no longer flashing. But, you guessed it, the black/yellow is again flashing.

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PRINTER AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!

Digital camera Review: Giving a CISS system one last chance to save it.
Summary: 1 Stars

WOW just look at all the 1 star ratings? That says it pretty much...and they have expressed my frustrations well. Since the machine is almost worthless on ebay as a resale item, I thought I'd give it one more chance and invest in one of the CISS systems for bulk inks. Why not I figure it cost me more than yet another set of cartridges even the smaller ones. I live 90 miles from nearest store I can buy them at anyway or it's mail order. So with luck the CISS will work & maybe outsmart the printer with some of it's many flaws. The noise perhaps I can learn to wear ear plugs if the ink works out & I actually manage to get some decent photos too.....& my computer actually finds this printer for a change....otherwise....I've still got my old reliable HP 990.....which is 10 years old now & a work horse that just keeps going....inks awfully expensive however and some of the newer printers are suppose to out perform in photo quality...not the K5400 that's for sure.
The K5400 was a birthday gift two years ago to upgrade from the HP 990. Especially looked forward to separate inks and updated quality of ink and photos. HP and Epson seems to continue to go downhill. Initially the reviews on this printer were pretty much in favor and only complained about the noise it made. Boy they were so right too. I'll wait for a new model to be out for at least 2 years before purchasing another HP again. We bought another HP at the same time that printed right on DVD blanks and within one year it died and refused to power up ever again. Had light use & Customer Service at HP offered us no help but that printer too has bad reviews now & a number of those are it died within months to a year of purchase. So these faults aren't just a lemon here or there....it's a trend. HP get your act together....used to love you but looking at your competition now.

Digital camera Review: Good printing quality but a little slow
Summary: 3 Stars

Printer is a little too bulky and prints slowly in comparison to other HP printers. Print quality is good. HP claims that printer saves on printing cost because of the multiple ink wells. Printer arrived without a cable causing another week of delay to set up the printer.
Choose another printer. Nothing special about this one!

Digital camera Review: Great Inkjet
Summary: 4 Stars

For the price this printer is great, it is very fast and does not appear to be an ink hog. The only thing that some may not like is, it is very noisy
