Digital camera reviews of HP LaserJet P2015 Printer (CB366A#ABA)Digital camera Review: A piece of junk. Summary: 1 Stars
A piece of junk. Either the networking is flaky or the sheets don't feed very well. I stick with the oldies but goodies for HP: HP 4000 series laserjet printers. You can get gently used ones off eBay for $250 with shipping. Rock solid unlike these clunkers.
Digital camera Review: Beware! It breaks down suddenly. What happened to HP? Summary: 1 Stars
I've had perhaps five HP printers, deskjets over the years. I moved up from a 1300 for the duplex option and quicker printing. It worked fine for a year. Then it stopped. The jam light and other lights blink or stay on constantly even where no paper is jammed, new toner is installed, etc. To my shock, searching the net, I found that this is common. It turns out that the "format board" breaks down and must be replaced. I've taken mine to a downtown repairshop for an estimate and may or may not have it fixed, depending on the price. I'm so disappointed with HP. Sadly, I don't like the other printers, in part, perhaps pitifully because of visuals. The Brothers, Lexmarxs, etc. are rather ugly. Thus, I may ultimately move up to the next level of HP printer. Supposedly the 2015 is cheaply made and the 3005 (I think that's the title) is better. Very disappointed.
Digital camera Review: Big disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
This was a replacement for the HP laserjet 1200, which was a real workhorse but unfortunately, was not big on memory. Was told the the HP LaserJet 2015 was the new model of the HP Laser 1320. Fresh out of the box, hooked up and ready to roll and immediately encountered problems. Tried printing postcards, which fell within the parameters of what the printer should handle, and the ink rubbed off and in a few instances, peeled off. Called HP...changed printer settings...ink still rubbed off in addition to ink splatter. Suggested shaking the toner cartridge and cleaning the heads. OK, did that. HP suggested printing cards from front top tray to back. Sounded like a muffler commercial...rattle, rattle, clank. Back to HP tech support. 45 minutes with tech support, and the favorite question they kept asking "can you hear it now?" YES. It was then suggested that I take the printer apart and look for broken parts. Why should I have to take a new printer apart and look for broken parts? They finally authorized an express exchange to the tune of $57.00 (postage and handling they explained) since the unit was still under warranty but too late to return to Amazon...purchased 4/4/07. I am still waiting for exchange printer, but in reality, do not feel like dealing with the same problems. So, long and short of it, I'm very unhappy.
Digital camera Review: Big problems running it on a Mac Summary: 2 Stars
I purchased the 2015 as a replacement for the predecessor (whatever the designation was). Installation was a cinch. But trying to print documents from Word or Powerpoint that contained JPG's and text was not successful. The pictures get clipped mysteriously at their right end side!! Also all pictures that were developed with Word Art!!
No way I could correct the problem. Not by installing the latest drivers, nor by trying various configurations from the printer menu!
The only way I could correctly print was using Gimp drivers. But then quality suffers a lot.
There's no practical way to contact HP support quickly. Their support is bad!
It was the last printer I ever will buy from HP.
Digital camera Review: Buy a USB connector cable, too. Summary: 4 Stars
This printer does not come with the USB 2.0 cable that connects it to the computer. So you don't end up like me, having to go through the aggravation of finding that out when you're trying to set it up, make sure you order one when you order the printer. I ordered this printer, finally got it after a back-order delay, and am now sitting around waiting for delivery of the USB cable that will actually allow me to use it.
