Digital camera reviews of HP OfficeJet 7310 All-in-One PrinterDigital camera Review: Don't buy this printer. Summary: 1 Stars
I have the Officejet 7310 for 2 years and I liked it alot. The only problem I had was with the fax. The pages often stuck together or I had to refax item. Last week my printer broke - carriage jam. After 2 chats with HP tech they told me to clean the printer. The black cartridge had leaked and got all over everything. After cleaning it I bought 2 new cartridges. Now it has a permanent carriage jam and I can't use it. I chatted with HP again online and the tech person didn't know what she was doing. You may like the machine when you first buy it, but buyer beware. I had an HP 960 for 5 years and I beat it to death. I do bulk printing. Then I bought another printer and it was a dud. Staples replaced it 3 times in less than a year and I had the same problem with the feeder. THey just don't make them the way they used to.

I purchased this from Amazon in mid December. The printer as a whole is excellent. It will print, scan, or fax anything you can throw at it. Duplex (both sides) printing and scanning is great.
Overall, printer is worth it just for its stand alone features such as color copying, color faxings, and automatic sheet feeder. The included software leaves alot to be desired, and the software install is huge (700 megs!) and takes forever to install.
I Recommend.

I have been using this printer for months now and I am very pleased with it. As some have pointed out the auto document feeder makes some noise, yes, but its noise required to do its job! The scan speed is admirable for the price of machine. To get a faster automatic duplex scanner, you would have to spend near $500 for a SCANNER alone. The duplex printing is awesome.
I have only found one major software related problem, and that is with Adobe Acrobat 6. When you scan a large amount of paper, either single or double sided, Acrobat will only show the first page. Its a bug in Acrobat. I have talked to their people, and they fully admit it. The only solution is to use either Acrobat 5 or 7.
Ink consumption is good for an inkjet. It uses less than my HP DeskJet 5550.
I STILL highly recommend this machine!

Had this printer for almost two years now, and other than paper and ink being replaced, I haven't had any problems. I scan weekly, using the duplex feature, which is great. The network feature is great, as I have about half a dozen machines printing to it, and each can scan, fax, do whatever, indepenently.
Digital camera Review: Duplex Printing top them all followed by Wireless Printing Summary: 5 Stars
I'm sharing my experience the way you shared yours where I base my purchasing decision.
I have a HP 5510 all-in-one dedicated (usb wired)printer to my laptop. I am satisfied, it does all things great except color resolution for pictures. I don't use it anyway, because I have HP100 4x6 color printer (the small dedicated printer). I got interested on the HP oj7310xi because of wireless printing, I saw at BJW Club. I started searching the web and didn't notice what I was reading about the 7310 all-in-one. I don't know up to this point the difference between the 7310xi and 7310 ALLn1.
I read almost all the reviews on this page back to 2004 and it scared me. So I decided to check on the 7410 and 90% said good things about it, few software problem compare to this one. However, there's not much advantage to justify the price.
I took the chance and follow your advice. When I got the printer, the first thing I did, out of the box, was to install the ink, and power up. I test the top loader, the flat bed scanner, and print 4x6 using flash memory card. The picture color didn't impressed me. I tried the duplex and it works. So far, everything working.
Now I downloaded the device drives and installation setup from HP and two more item on the group. I wired the printer to my laptop by usb cable. I turn off my anti-virus and started the set up. It took so long that by the time it almost done, it told me that something can't be completed. I start over again with the same message only this time the computer blank out and restarted. I think I've done this a few times analyzing where the problem lies. I have noticed that the installation deleted all my printer icons and drives which included the 5510. Also, I lost my wireless connection - unavailable. I tried to fixed it, no avail. I call Dell tech and after more than an hour they advice me to re-install Window XP. Do you have any idea what a mess this is? That's okay if you don't have nothing on your computer. I have to back up everything I could save, specially, program data, like your Outlook emails saved data; MS Money data (bank deposit and investment records); Browser Bookmark/Favorite data; MusicMatch data and loss everything else. Like New Orlean slowly building it up again with lots of time wasted.
RESOLUTION: You might learn something here.
I decide to call HP Tech for help. I told this story and about the many advice I read here. The Tech asked me how many said the software was bad, I said around 10. The replied was I have done hundreds with no problem. But still I am not comfortable but gave up.
These are the steps we've done to set up wireless printing through the router:
1. Do not connect printer to laptop/desktop by wire/cable
2. Load the CD software, follow the instruction and select the first recommend installation. It will take a while.
3. Re load the CD - software and this time select the next one, about the device (can't remember the name). When done . . .
4. On your computer, select Start - Run - type in = cmd; click Ok.
5. Type this: ipconfig press Enter. Now copy your computer Ip address.
6. Type this: ping space (input your IP address) press Enter. if there's a reply, you have a wireless connection.
8. Try to print. If not working, go to your printer and press Setup - 8 - 2 okay to print Printer information
9. Back to Laptop, start - run - cmd - type-in ping space input the printer IP Address. If there's a reply you have connection.
10. If looking for Service ID#, go to printer, press Cancel + Okay at the same time. If Service ID is blank/none, press Setup+Okay+Cancel to reset then repeat Okay+Cancel.
11. Because of various network configuration, mined might be different from yours. You may pick up a few tricks from here. Read the Network Guide, Chapter Five for wireless that came with the printer.
Then I have the other laptop and desktop hoop up with no problem.
CONCLUSION: My advice, get Tech support right away. You'll save lots of time. I have a good understanding of computers and still mess up big time following your advice, thanks.
The number one thing that top them all on this printer features is the Duplex, both side printing, followed by the wireless printing, cool!. You can be anywhere around your house with the laptop and still can print. Also provides exercise walking to and from the printer. Laptops and wireless printer are a good match. The more laptops sharing one printer - best! Desktop does not have advantage using this, there are better wired and cheaper All-in-one model. The printer came with white tape to hold them together, I didn't took them all off. I cut them short and still bind them togeter with a loop, it eliminate 95% of the noise. One thing I notice is it shake from side to side noiselessly maybe because of the stand. I have not scratch the surface what it can do and already love it.
Digital camera Review: Error. Remove and check cartridge on right. Summary: 1 Stars
I got this printer from our corporate office a month ago. Initially when I got it, I installed everything and it is working properly for about three weeks, and then a week ago it stopped working and I got the 'Orange exclamation point. Error. Remove and check cartridge on right.'. The cartridge it it referring to is the black one, I tried removing the black cartridge and then close printer cartridge access door, I still get the same error. Tried turning it off by removing the power cord and turning it back on but still get the error. Tried removing both the color and black cartridge and then power it down, I still get the same error. Another officemate of mine is having the same issue with the same kind of printer and after working with Tech Support for several hours, she decided to just bring back the printer to our corporate office, I would do the same.
Digital camera Review: Finally -- an All-in-One that Delivers! Summary: 4 Stars
After three months use, this all-in-one printer still satisfies. Fax -- perfect! Printing -- Gorgeous, and the duplex printing allows me to save on paper and space to store it. Copy -- Nice - maybe not the absolute best I've ever seen, but better than acceptable. Scanner -- scans are good when they work. Probably a software upgrade would be the answer, but I haven't seen one yet that solves my (sometimes) problem with a tempermental scanner.
Overall, with the exception mentioned above, I'm a happy camper. I've reduced the number of machines in my office without a huge sacrifice in productivity.
Four Stars!
