Digital camera Review: Frustrating and Disppointing exp with this All-in-One!
Summary: 1 Stars

I was a huge fan of HP. I had a HP All-In-One from college and that lasted me 6 good years until it just went obsolete. However, this printer changed most of my HP perspectives on All-In-Ones. First, the print function is faulty. Whenever it tries to print Black and White on paper, there will be wide white stripes where there should have been text or graphic. Called HP for repair, spent 45 minutes of testing on the phone and they only replaced my cartridge. OK, white stripes problem improved but is still happening.

Then, the fax function failed after 1 month of use. Everytime when the multiple-page fax is sent out from the feeder correctly, the fax result will always print out to say "Jammed". But NOT A SINGLE FAXED PAPER WAS JAMMED!!! And sometimes the fax goes out just right and the result message will say "Error", this is when the recipient doesn't receive the last 1 or 2 pages of the fax.

Very disppointed HP comes out with a product as defective as this one. Hopefully your HP All-In-One experience is much better than this one!

Digital camera Review: Garbage in the long run
Summary: 1 Stars

This machine is the next generation in the 7000 series. I warn anyone who considers this printer that the beautiful colors you get early on, will turn to garbage in the long run. The ink-head technology is still sorely lacking and often gets clogged and makes everything come out worthless. Stay away from this machine. Tech support is poor and even that does not last very long. This is a throw-away machine that costs too much to fix and too much to replace.

Digital camera Review: Gone are the days of solid HP printers
Summary: 2 Stars

I have owned the printer for one year. The only reason I gave the printer two stars was because when it prints (only reliably printing via USB) the pictures are beautiful. The copy, scan, and fax features work. I have not used the duplex.

If you want to print via a network, then almost all print jobs will sponsor an error message, "This document failed to print." A single print job may eventually print out with multiple error messages and printing line by line with many pauses during the printing process. I usually cancel the print job, drag the USB cable to the PC I want to print from and restart the print job.

When first purchased, I made multiple calls resulting in many hours on the phone with technical support. Mostly they suggested that I reinstall the HP software. The last call asked I reinstall Windows which I was unwilling to do. A few months ago, I did however purchase a new HPdv9000t notebook and freshly installed the HP pinter software on it, which did not work. (Love the notebook by the way.)[original review said I loved the notebook - update: letters wear off keys and BIOS issues that make Quicklaunch keys stop working. HP support experience much like for this printer] Regular and escalated/next tier support was offshore. Each person tried hard, but was unable to support beyond reading from a script, having little real technical knowledge.

Gone are the days of the solid HP printer product.

Digital camera Review: Good Network Printer
Summary: 5 Stars

I returned my HP 6110 multifunctional printer to get this. Ha!! what a difference. Software setup is a breeze. It automatically uninstalled my old Hp drivers. I connected to the printer to the network router directly and installed the software . The software automatically picked up the location of the printer and the router seemlessly gave it an IP address. I installed on two desktops (3 and 4yr old runninb XP pro)and a laptop---no problem!!!

The best I liked about this machine is, I can put a compact flash card in the printer and access it from any computer. Even better, I setup the HP instant share and now I send my pictures to all my family and friends without having to download the pics to a computer. Seting up HP instant share takes time, however it is worth the time. Now I put the card in the printer, select the pics I want to share, select a destination (a group of email addresses that have to be setup with HP instant share) and hit send.

Print and scan quality are same as any high end HP printer/photo printer.

Digital camera Review: Good all-in-one printer, software could be better
Summary: 4 Stars

So far, in nearly three years it's been a great printer for us. We haven't had a single problem with it (knocking on wood) and like it a lot. We do a fair amount of printing and copying and it works great. the print quality for both pure black and color prints is very good. We have had several other printers before and this one is much better than any of the others. I like the fact that it has an Ethernet interface instead of just USB connection. I send print jobs to it from all my computers, it's great. For the price, it's hard to beat -- we paid less than $300 for it.

My only gripe would be the software interface for the scanner isn't the most intuitive and could certainly be better. But it works and scans fine. HP isn't a software shop after all. However, I did not have any issues with installing any of the software like some of the other users. It may be a function of the individual configuration, but I can't complain.
