Digital camera reviews of HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One PrinterDigital camera Review: All Right for the Money Summary: 3 Stars
Bought this printer about 2 1/2 years ago. Just replaced it today with a Canon Pixma MX850. I loved this printer for the time that I had it. But the last 6 months, it kept screwing up my printing as far as the quality. It kept shadowing my print on the paper. I couldn't explain it. And the people I talked to didn't know how to fix it either. So it lasted a couple of years and did a great job. But for me, I like to buy quality products I don't have to replace over and over again. Perhaps, I was just unlucky and this won't happen to everyone. But I'm not so apt to purchase this model again. So far I'm in love with my new Canon.
Digital camera Review: Almost perfect complete office suite Summary: 4 Stars
I recently upgraded to the HP6310 from the HP7110 a machine I was more than happy with. The move has been excellent, all functions are faster particularly color printing, the unit is significantly more compact and the quality of images are also a serious upgrade. The unit has almost no shake and is extremely quiet in operation, particularly in comparison with my old 7110. In addition the price differential between this machine and the much inferior HP5610 is very small.
New features include the ability to take several formats of camera memory cards and read directly from them to print contact sheets, six ink color with inkjet photo ink and up to 24 x 8.5 prints. There are also wired and wireless network options etc but I have not used them.
Installation was a breeze, I was up and running in maybe 10 minutes, the controls are intuitive but if needed the instruction book is unusually easy to follow.
Why not five stars: it drinks ink and the cartridges are small -that gets expensive.
If you can live with the ink issue this is a great machine for the home office or small business.
Digital camera Review: Almost two years old, and STILL working fine. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this printer in Marcy of 2007. I use it for at home photocopying and printing (very little scanning), just an average home sort of use.
I've read the more recent reviews, about how much ink it consumes and how it doesn't work. Well, maybe it's just me, but I'm STILL on the original ink cartridges. Really.
When I bought this printer, I had an ibook. I since upgraded to a Macbook Pro. All I had to do was install the software in the Macbook, and presto. Works perfectly.
I also got a bluetooth gadget that plugs right into the front of the printer. I print effortlessly without any cables or connections.
So maybe it's just that the HP 6310 from two years ago were better, although I doubt it. There were complaints back then, too. Or maybe it's because I use it on a Mac.
Whatever it is, this is a good little workhorse that is still chugging on. I'd consider the negative posts (I'm sure some of them are accurate), but IMHO, it's a printer I'd recommend for the low to medium use household.
Digital camera Review: Avoid this printer! Summary: 1 Stars
This is one of the worst printers I have ever had the misfortune to buy.
1) The installer executables are HUGE and the installation process takes FOREVER.
2) Typical shoddy HP software runs as if it's spyware. Multiple processes run as daemons and often consume huge amounts of CPU, and they also often will not shut down properly.
3) I bought it for its networking capability, BUT ... If your router is power-cycled then the printer must also be power-cycled, and quite often, pressing the power button does nothing, and I have to unplug it from the wall.
4) Many of the advanced networking features just plain don't work (probably because of the shoddy HP software on the workstation end).
5) It has a sheet feeder but often fails to correctly feed sheets.
I could go on, but you get the point. Choose a better printer.
Digital camera Review: Bad product - can i put zero stars! Summary: 1 Stars
Worked ok for a year with very little use. After warranty expired (1 year). I got a "reset power" error. This is a fatal error. Do a google search: HP6310 all-in-one with this error "reset power" and see the feedback from dissatisfied existing HP 6310 all-in-one owners before purchasing this product. You are warned. Worst purchase i ever made!!!!
