Digital camera reviews of HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One PrinterDigital camera Review: Big time reliability issues Summary: 1 Stars
I have a HP 6310 that I purchased less than 2 years ago. It started clunking and clanging about a week ago and now it shows the infamous "Reset Power" indicator, basically meaning that it's toast. My last printer was a LaserJet all-in-one which basically died the same way with the head setting, resetting, and reseting again until it gives up and declares some message indicator a fatal error. After buying HP printers for 20 years now, I'm now done with HP and moving on to another brand. Perhaps Brother. Stay away from these printers. If you have any doubts just Google "HP 6310 Reset Power" and witness the dozens of people who have this problem and discussing how HP is saying there is no pattern here or need for a recall. If HP is not going to stand behind their products, then why should you ?
Digital camera Review: Bunch of junk Summary: 1 Stars
This printer has a known scanner driver issue that HP cannot seem to come up with a permanent fix. The scanner will do what it is supposed to and show the image on your monitor. Once you click to commit saving the scanned file, the file disappears. HP keeps pushing patches that some times work and some times do not. Working on XP, Vista or Win7 each creates new hassles. In the past I have been a strong HP supporter and I do not have any other printer to recommend. Simply I recommend DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.
Digital camera Review: CONSTANT PROBLEMS - ESPECIALLY WITH MAC Summary: 1 Stars
Since we bought this to work with our Mac, we have had nothing but problems. If asked to print one page of a document only, it freaks out, all the lights flash and has to be turned off an on again to reset it and calm it down! Have had long sessions with HP customer service on the phone and they haven't a clue. If we could have been bothered, we would have taken it back, but just live with the fact that we have to print excess pages (at least we do recycle). There are various other things that also cause it to freak and flash, can never work out specifically what, we just sigh and reset it. Will be looking for something else to upgrade to soon.
Digital camera Review: Can't see the problems others have! Great printer Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this printer over two years ago as an upgrade for my HP G85xi, the critical buying decesion for me was being able to connect the device on my network. I used to connect it with both USB and Ethernet but when I bought other network devices I removed the USB cable and let it stand on its own on the netowrk. I think the problem here is that some persons are used to installing USB devices which are PnP (Plug and Play) but to get this working over your netowrk requires installing the drivers on all your clients. The printer works fine and maybe HP website could be more intuitive in assisting customers when they have problems installing. With regards to the document feeder issues I have never used the maximum 35 page limit, so I can't comment on that.
Bottom line I would definetly recommend it.
Digital camera Review: Cheap Item, Poor Software, Worse Support Summary: 1 Stars
I didn't purchase this one...it was a gift. I was hoping for a laser printer like one of the Brother All-In-Ones.
I opted to install the Lite version of the software from hp.com. I would suggest that everyone do this. The Lite version only has the drivers, none of the HP bull software that is included usually.
The thing that bothered me the most was the Automatic Document Feeder. I would start a scan job and everything is going fine, and then on the 5th or 6th page the whole process would just hang. I had over 500 pages of documents to scan, and this machine really let me down.
Amazing how Hewlett-Packard can't even write reliable drivers.
I gave the item 2 stars because I got it to print sometimes. No buy.
