At first glance, the Officejet J6480 appears to meet all printing, faxing, and scanning needs... BUT I have had nothing but trouble with the software furnished with this printer since the day I bought it. Almost every time HP issues an update to their software (drivers, etc.) I find myself with a printer that no longer works and I have had to de-install and reinstall the printer software four times just to keep things running. In addition, HP's on-line support is no better that BAD. They can read from a script in order to "help you" but ask them a question or try to deviate from what they insist you do (I've had 40 years' experience in computing and have been a PC user since the early 80s) and they get "lost" and need to start over. The driver software is terrible and their maintenace is worse. Avoid this product... I may be stuck with a lemon and there is no lemonade in sight.Digital camera Review: Awesome AIO Printer! I have been a fan of HP printers for many years now, and after purchasing and using the Officejet J6480, I feel stronger than ever that HP printers are awesome!
The AIO printer does everything promised. I've used it to send faxes, scan receipts for expense reports, and make copies of important documents. But perhaps the two greatest things about it are 1) Being able to print wirelessly from my laptop in another room of the house, and 2) Printing on both sides without having to remove and reload the paper. I realize there are many printers on the market that do all of these things, but I don't know enough about them to comment. All I know is this printer does it without error and without fail!

I purchased this printer several weeks ago from Costco, and I've been nothing but impressed with its performance. The installation on both my own and wife's computer was a breeze, and I've had no problems at all with the wireless connection. We are a strict laptop household environment and I love the freedom of being able to print anywhere in the home without the hassle of a physical connection. The print quality suits me just fine, and the scanning quality is superb. For the price, this printer is a winner. I bought this all-in-one less than 1 year ago and it was working well until it had a carriage jam. I guess that is a common problem. I contacted HP customer support via email. I wasn't happy with that so I contacted customer support via phone--that was much worse. I was on hold on and off about an hour and spoke to someone (in India?) for about 5 minutes. It was incredibly frustrating. So I returned to the email support. It sounded like they were going to replace the unit but I have had the run around for 1 month now (which seems to be common for HP support). I am going to write the CEO. I would never buy another HP product. Its too bad because it looks like a minor/ fixable problem (but the printer doesn't work at all).
