Digital camera reviews of HP Photosmart D7560 Printer

Digital camera Review: Good Buy
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive printer to make pictures taken from old slides. Since we are both elderly and not computer literate, we wanted something simple to install and use. After an Internet search and reading many reviews, we chose this printer. Our decision was made easier by the fact that we like HP products, and we have not been disappointed in this choice. It prints great pictures.

Digital camera Review: Good Choice
Summary: 5 Stars

Good choice. Makes excellent Photo and CD Disc prints! Don't forget to buy couple extra "photo black" inks if u're gonna use this printer for photo printing, cause printer uses them a lot for photos.

Digital camera Review: Good for photo work
Summary: 4 Stars

I have two HP printers, a Photosmart 7960 and the D7560. I bought the D7560 for the reported better quality photos. The set up was easy enough but be warned to wear old clothes when installing the cartridges unless you are use to them. I snapped off the protective button on the black cartridge and got ink all over my hands. At my first try to print, the paper jammed. Unlike my 7960 I discovered the D7560 wouldn't work with two different grades of paper in the tray. The cartridges have a vent slot. You have to remove the protective tape. I didn't on the Magenta and got a lousy print. After removing the tape I had to run the print head cleaner. I had to go online to find out how to do that. HP sends you a basic guide that wasn't much help - when HP says basic they mean basic. The on line instructions were complete and excellent and easy to use. After all that, I produced a near perfect photo print, much better than my 7960. I put out a newsletter each month with color pictures on plain paper. The D7560 doesn't do any better than the 7960. After printing 44 pages the black ink cartridge shows three quarters empty. Since I have most of my photo prints done at CostCo, the D7560 isn't that much better for me than my old printer. In summary, the D7560 is a good buy and produces excellent photos.

Digital camera Review: Good, but with some annoyances
Summary: 4 Stars

Have been printing mostly DVD labels using HP software. It's limited, but works well. I prefer printing on paper labels rather than on printable DVDs. The color is more saturated plus the DVDs are cheaper.

The printer churns through its noisy startup routine, and then when you start the software it does it again. Every third DVD means another noisy interlude for which you have to raise the print cradle door. Sometimes strange things happen, and you may have to redo the label and try again. Occasionally it prints only a sliver on the edge of the label. Don't know why. I just print over it most of the time.

The initial ink cartridges were gone in a flash. Replacements are doing OK. Printing DVD labels doesn't seem to require much ink.

Digital camera Review: Great CD/DVD printer
Summary: 4 Stars

I was looking for an economical way to print nice colorful CDs and DVDs for a small business of mine. I had previously used the laser engraving method but was not pleased with its clarity. I researched some very expensive disc labeling machines but learned that HP had a line of Photosmart printers that would also print directly on the CD/DVD. I would agree the included software is poor if you want to vary from the designs included, but I developed a Photoshop template that works nicely. This HP D7560 it prints much faster than the laser method I was previously using (Lightscribe), DVDs look professionally made, and the only negative feature would be the amount of ink it uses. But, it's still much cheaper than the $1,500-$2,000 disc printers on the market. I would highly recommend this printer.
