Digital camera reviews of HP Wireless Elite Keyboard and MouseDigital camera Review: A must buy! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a very nice keyboard and wireless mouse system. The keyboard is smaller in width and the keyboard itself is similiar to typing on a laptop. No bulky keys, you just need a lite tap on the keys. The mouse fits the hand well and is very responsive. This was a great buy.
Digital camera Review: A wireless keyboard/mouse solution Summary: 5 Stars
I have an unique set-up for my entertainment center that makes a convetional keyboard and mouse cumbersome. I have my pc, dvr, wii, and 360 all hooked up to the same bravia and audio reciever in my bedroom...a very cozy set-up. For the longest time, I have made do with only a wireless mouse resigning myself to sitting at a desk across the room when typing (not a huge inconvenience...but still troublesome). Now I can blog, email, ect. all from the lazy comfort of my bed and all of my concerns about battery life seem to be for naught. A small side note: This is most likely just a minor hiccup within the handshaking software on my own machine (I've got multiple inputs hooked to the same PC), but I've installed the software that came with the product several times and it works, but everytime I boot my PC, it recognizes the hardware and tries to instal again...consistenty. I have to cancel out three times before it gives up. That being said, the product works perfectly (even during all of the software shinanigans).
Digital camera Review: Absolutely Love The Keyboard Summary: 4 Stars
This is by far the best wireless keyboard that I have ever purchased, it never misses a stroke, and since I also purchased a 25" monitor I can use the keyboard from across the room and never have any problem with any sort of interference or worrying about going out of range. I have also yet to replace the batteries in the keyboard, very impressed with the life on them considering I use my computer about six to seven hours a day, and much of that time is spent on the keyboard.
The mouse on the other hand, I do like but I am not quite as impressed with. I have had to replace the batteries in it three times now since I have owned it in the past six months. Also, I never had any problems with it for the first couple of months, but now even with fresh batteries, it has a hard time tracking, it just shoots from one side of my screen to the other, I may have just been given a faulty mouse.
I've also noticed in the other reviews people mentioning the blue led light on the usb receiver, this is a very bright light so if you don't have any back ports, or plan on using this in the dark be prepared for each click or move of the mouse, or each stroke of the keyboard to cause a bright flashing light.
Overall I would have to say if you don't have to have this wireless mouse, HP does sell this keyboard by itself, so that's what I would purchase if I could do it over again. However it is nice that since it is a combo that it only take up one usb port for both items. It just depends on what is more important to you.
Digital camera Review: An elegant keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I got this to use on my hdtv computer - and found that it was so slick that didn't want to use my standard keyboards anymore. I put a 1" snip of black electrical tape over 2/3 of the LED window on the usb receiver so that the light doesn't distract me. One needs to get used to a the location of the 'Insert' button is on the top row of keys.
Overall it's an elegant keyboard:
Keys: quiet, sensitive and rugged enough - although I'd keep it away from the 3-yr old. Easy to get used to typing on it.
Body: heavy enough to stay-put and give it a solid feel.
Size: the edges are just big enough to give you something to hold on to while picking it up or balancing it on your lap. razor thin profile ;)
Oh - I got the mouse combo - the mouse is just fine, with one outstanding feature: an on/off switch on the bottom which you can use to conserve the battery while not in use (*turns off the lazer) ....cool
have fun!
