Digital camera reviews of HP Wireless Elite Keyboard and Mouse

Digital camera Review: Extremely quiet keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

I started a new job a few months ago and was given an ancient keyboard that was super loud and everyone around me could hear my annoying typing all day long. I decided to get this after a week of banging away and I was pleasantly surprised to how quiet this one is. I always loved having the feet on my keyboards up and angled toward me until I read an ergonomics book they gave me at work which said it is best to have your wrists flat so you aren't bending them back too much, another plus with this extremely flat keyboard. As a few other reviewers have said, the mouse is harder to click compared to others I have tried. The mouse is also loud to click so it's weird that they design a quiet keyboard and sell a loud mouse with it. Minor complaint: there is nothing to show when caps lock is on so it is frustrating when you get a password incorrect and have no idea why and later find out your caps lock was on. I'm assuming they do this to save on battery life. I have had it for 3 months, the mouse batteries died already (no warning they are dying) from quite a bit of use (6-8 hours a day), but the keyboard is still going strong on the originals.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic Keyboard & Pretty Good Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm extremely happy with this keyboard and mouse. I was looking for a nice compact wireless keyboard and mouse so I could relocate my docked laptop to a credenza and free up desk space. This keyboard/mouse combination is by far the nicest I've ever seen. The keyboard is very compact and thin. It has low-pitch keys and as others have stated is very quiet and lovely to use. The mouse is nothing to write home about but seems to work well and is comfortable in your hand. As others have mentioned the mouse click is pretty stiff and loud. I also find the finger wheel to be stiff though that is silent (my last mouse made a clicking noise as you turned the wheel). The wireless range seems to be extremely good and as mentioned the software which shows the battery life is worth installing. Overall this keyboard is exactly what I wanted. It allowed me to save a ton of room on my desk and is far nicer to use than what it replaced.

Digital camera Review: Fantastic--look no further for your perfect wireless solution

I bought an HP touchsmart that came with this keyboard and mouse. I loved it so much that I bought another set for my office computer. They both work better than an wireless mouse or keyboard that I've had. Nice touch on the keyboard too!

Digital camera Review: Frustrated User
Summary: 2 Stars

I'm a computer programmer and a fiction writer, so I use my computer more heavily than most. I've been using this combo for about six months and I have to say I'm not happy. The keyboard is not good for touch typists like myself because the keys are so flat that it's difficult to tell if your fingers are on the keys or slightly beside them, resulting in a lot of typos. (On other keyboards I am much more accurate). As others have said, the USB connector flashes blue with every movement of the mouse or key press, which can be annoying. The mouse is also poorly designed. The click is very loud (my girlfriend can hear it in the next room!), and pressing it also seems to require more pressure than other mice I've used. This has resulted in, over time, a mild soreness in my clicking finger which may be a repetitive stress injury like tendinitis. And it feels bulky and awkward in the palm. It's definitely not ergonomic! I've also found the range to be pretty poor. I'm left handed, so when I had my PC on the right side on the floor, sometimes the mouse pointer would "jump," a sure sign of a bad signal. Worse, when the battery starts to go on the keyboard, letters mysteriously vanish from sentences even though the system tray app says the battery is "Good" or "OK." This is when the keyboard is less than two feet from the receiver! I would not recommend this combo to anyone who frequently uses their computer. I've only kept it this long because I couldn't afford to buy a new one right away.

Digital camera Review: Go for Logitech over this product
Summary: 2 Stars

I was sold because this product looks so sleek. It was one of the pricier wireless combo packs out there. Logitech sells a wireless combo for $35. I paid $55 for this at the time of writing. I rated this product 2 starts instead of 5 because of 2 issues:
The keyboard has no lights. There is no way to know if your caps lock, scroll, or num lock are on. The 2nd issue and the real biggie is that the mouse is just yuck. Its not well contoured like logitech or microsoft's wireless versions. The clicks are very plastic feeling and don't respond as quickly as I would like for gaming. I suggest going with a Logitech product. They haven't let me down.
