Digital camera Review: Great keyboard, but not the mouse

Most reviews have been spot on about the keyboard. Great design, quiet, overly bright light on the receiver. No quality issues. When propped up on its stands, the center portion bends a little on pressure, but I suppose it's the price for such a slim profile.
Initially the mouse was alright. I could bear with the loud clicks. I liked the mirror finish (easier to clean than those non-slip ones).
But then the mouse had some connectivity issues. The light on the USB receiver lights upon every keyboard hit and mouse movement. Sometimes the mouse would hang for split seconds, and the light would go out even with the mouse moving. Nonetheless this would only happen a couple times a day.
However I've encountered two occasions (in the past 4 days that I've owned this) when the mouse would completely die. I had to remove the battery and re-insert it for it to work again.
Purchase the keyboard alone if you can. I'm giving 4 stars nonetheless for the deserving keyboard.

I bought the HP Elite Keyboard and mouse, in March 2010. I was hoping to get something close to Apples I mac blue tooth wireless keyboard. I thought long and hard about just buying the Apple keyboard and remapping it to use with my PC. I looked at all the wireless keyboards that I could find locally, and just happened to see a HP Elite keyboard. Then I saw it on Amazon, and read all the reviews but made a mistake and purchased the keyboard and mouse. No problems with installing, everything worked fine, very happy with the keyboard, annoyed with the mouse clicks (loud) and at times I developed soreness in my hand. Over time I got used to the mouse, but went to replace the batteries for the second time, and the battery clip broke. Now I'm in the process of trying to get a replacement for the broken mouse, the battery slips out losing contact, very annoying. OK so I'm hoping they won't replace the mouse, then I'm forced to find something better.
Bottom line read the reviews, I usually do and it helps me decide whether or not to purchase an item On Amazon. Trouble is some items like a mouse and keyboard, you need to physically see and use them to make your decision. I had only seen and was able to use the Elite keyboard, and not the mouse before ordering it on Amazon. Price was also a consideration, so I purchased them together
Why doesn't somebody make a high quality keyboard like Apples for a PC?

I agree with other reviews on this board. This is the best keyboard I have used. In fact, I have it connected to a pretty modest notebook computer and I feel like I'm using a much better system with this keyboard. I was concerned with the reviews on the mouse. It is loud, but the alternative is to have two usb wireless connectors if I don't use this mouse. To me I accept the trade-off. If you have lots of open USB ports and don't mind having one for the keyboard and one for the mouse, then you might want to get separate units. I like this keyboard so much, I am planning to buy a second for my full-time job--at my expense!Digital camera Review: Great product

I built an in-will entertainment center, complete with a PC and needed something that would work 10-15 feet away. I bought a mid-level Logitech wireless unit and it turned out to be a real POS. I was very disappointed. I found this unit and it works perfect. No signal loss, delays, etc.. everything works prefect. The battery life is decent and the modern design looks great on my living room coffee table. I highly recommend this unit to anyone who needs something with great wireless range.
