Digital camera reviews of HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld (FA979AA#ABA) (110 Series)Digital camera Review: Easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
I was really suprised at how easy it is to get on line or download applications.
Digital camera Review: Easy to use Summary: 4 Stars
It is great to get so many features so self contained in a small box. I really like this device. So much more "tweakable" than an itouch with all the features you will love. This is my first pocket PC. I bought this on line, quick delivery and amazingly easy to setup. It has everything I need to get going, my Outlook files are perfectly synchronized and i can use just like my desktop. I added a larger card and edited the registry to direct my mail to be stored on it, eally nice, now I have a copy of ALL my mails in its original folder structures. I also have a backup of all my frequently accessed files from my PC.
Digital camera Review: End of the line...Maybe? Summary: 5 Stars
Sadly, this iPaq PDA will probably be the end of the line for "stand-alone" PDAs along with it's bigger brother the iPaq 211. I still love mine and use it many times a day as my peripheral brain.
I owned the larger & heavier iPaq 211 but sold it on eBay so I could buy this smaller/lighter sibling. The Windows Mobile 6 classic runs flawlessly with very few soft resets. The WM player is great for music as well as videos. The videos at 320x240 play w/o hiccups.
The WM office (excel, word, powerpoint) work as expected. No complaints!
The email program sets up easily and syncs with Outlook effortlessly. I have all (5) email accounts sending & receiving without problems.
The screen is bright, even outdoors and the audio is clear & crisp w/o headphones.
The 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connects quickly and consistently every time.
My only negative cooment might be the power consumption drains the battery pretty quick...needs charge every night.
Digital camera Review: Exceeded expectations Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this I-paq as a substitute for my old Palm Tungsten and ended up finding uses and qualities that have surprised me. This is a much better machine than its predecessor in many ways.
Digital camera Review: Excellent PDA Summary: 4 Stars
I got this as a replacement to an old Toshiba E330. The E330 was also a very good pda in its day but was outdated and beginning to fail. The new IPAQ 111 is much better in that it has more memory, has persistant memory (in case battery is drained), has a brighter screen and is more energy efficient. It comes with notes, contacts, calendar, word processer and spreadsheet functions. I won't detail all of its capabilities, many of which I don't use but it serves my purposes and is fairly easy to use. (The paper owners manual offers very little 'how to' info but it does have a digital help file). It also doesn't come with back up capabilities and other little extras that I received my old pda. Such as ebooks and MS reader et.al. It comes with ActiveSync but you also won't be able to sync with desk top apps unless you have MS Outlook and/or Office. It uses Windows Mobile 6 classic OS which means that it doesn't include a phone.
