If you have some technical inclination and some patience, then this kit will revive your dead (or dying) iPod Mini. I've had mine over 4 years and the battery just started to give way only playing for a couple hours before wonking out. Now I'm going 8-10 hours on this new higher capacity battery. And while you have your iPod open, you might as well upgrade the memory. It uses a CompactFlash equivalent memory card (like those used in some DSLR digital cameras).
So save your iPod from the landfill and give it new life!

I bought this product on a whim to see if I could replace the battery in my wife's mini instead of tossing it out. She upgraded to the Ipod Touch, but I hated to get rid of an otherwise solid mp3 player b/c of a dead battery.
The shipment arrived on time with all the tools, great instructions, and of course the battery. In case you want more assurance you are doing things right, I found a great instructional video on CNET, but you don't need it if you follow the included instructions. Just search for "Replace Ipod Mini battery" and you'll find it on CNET if you feel the need.
FYI, you are going to mar the case. No avoiding it unless you are a true surgeon. But it's no big deal.
Took less than 10 minutes. Now my young daughter has a perfectly functioning Ipod and it cost me like $15 after tax and shipping.
Highly recommended.
