Digital camera Review: Not everything pictured but did the job

I bought the replacement battery but there was no pry bar like in the picture and no screen saver. I had no use for the screen protector and I happened to have my own tools. The battery fit perfectly...I followed the instructions on youtube. Here are some points to consider:
- I used a guitar pic and and tool for similar to a guitar pic to pry the ends of the ipod off. No blow dryer needed as mentioned in several posts.
- The process was fairly simple...I think it's manageable by most people.
- No screen protector
- Came with two mini screw drivers - which you can use. I read and saw in the video that metal tools can scratch the mini when removing the ends.
So overall...the battery is fine (it's charging so can't comment on capacity. No screen protector and no blue pry-bar like is pictured.

The battery did fit but was 650mAh not 800 mAh, there were NO screen protectors nor instructions included. Be aware of the misrepresentations in the ad. The tools included were a small flat head screwdriver and a 00 phillips screwdriver, useful, but the flat head can scratch the mini case, so be careful. A spudger would make the installation much easier; check iFixit.com for instructions and tools. Bottom line: it works and it's cheap.Digital camera Review: Recommended.

Battery works great, however, the instructions are only for replacing the battery in an iPod Photo 1st - 4th generations and video. This is a confusing listing. The actual product title is for a 750mAh battery, whle a the description keeps mentioning a 650mAh. What I actually got was an 850mAh. It's always better to get more then less. Satisfied. The tools work great. You'd be hard pressed to find anything you already have in your garage that do the trick as well as the ones here.

Replacing the battery is only cheaper if you know what you're doing. Otherwise you could end up replacing the entire iPod itself.

Let's face it, the worst part about our beloved iPods are the built-in batteries. I've had my iPod Mini since the initial launch. My battery had gotten to the point where it only worked for about 2 hours on a "full charge". My options were to send it in to Apple to replace the battery, buy a new iPod or buy a replacement kit and do it myself. I opted for the least expensive option and purchased this kit. 5-star all the way:
1) Instructions are very easy to follow. Yes, you are actually opening up your precious iPod. It's iPod surgery.
2) The battery fit precisely. I juiced it up and it's like I have a brand new Mini. It charges quickly and keeps the charge (seems like it's better than the factory-issued battery).
3) After successfully replacing the battery on your iPod Mini, you'll feel a whole new level of ownership. You dissected it, put it back together and made it work better!
I strongly recommend this battery replacement kit. Save some money, keep the Mini going strong!
