Digital camera Review: Best portable Digital tuner TV

Great little TV. The item I received differed from the one pictured, it was rubberized black and had better controls. I comes with a removable battery pack, 12v and AC adapters and a stick antenna.
We use it for keeping up with college football games while watching our daughters travel softball team.
The TV decodes everything. ATSC (over the air digital TV), NTSC (analog TV), regular cable TV AND even non-encrypted QAM cable TV (that was a huge plus for me).
I tried a Radio Shack 7" that looks a lot like the Amazon picture of the Haier above; but this TV is MUCH MUCH better. The antennas with these TV's are crap, get the silver sensor sold on Amazon and you will be amazed the channels you can pull in with this TV.

I ordered this tv on the 8th. of the month and I had it on the 10th. Now that is fast !!!
I have had several small tv's over the years and they were mostly very expensive. Several Casio's and
a couple of Sony's too.
When I opened the box, I was expecting a more or less cheap little tv with no weight at all. To my surprise,
this tv isn't heavy but, it isn't light either. It seems to be well made especially for the low price of less
than $50.00. I put the small antenna on and let it scan for channels and it got three. I wasn't expecting more
because of the area where I live. The picture was actually clear and the color was also good.
I put the batteries in the remote and went through the set up procedure. I adjusted the color and contrast and
that is all that was needed. The picture was good and clear. The program guide is a very nice feature as well as
the ability to have caption on screen. Few tv's have a program guide and the ones's that do only show information about
the program that is now on and perhaps the next program. This program guide shows the programs coming on for several
hours. The sound isn't great but, what should we expect from tiny speakers. I tried using some small Sony external
speakers and the sound was very good. This tv will come in handy when I go camping or take a road trip. It will be nice
in a hotel room to place on the night stand so I can catch the news before I sleep.
This would make an excellent gift for those very hard to please people on your gift list. For the price, it is a steal...
The batteries also came along with the remote and that doesn't always happen...

I purchased the Haier HLT71 7-Inch Portable LCD TV because I wanted something to be compatible with the upcoming government mandated digital switch. Primarily, I didn't want to spend a fortune on something I used for brief periods of viewing while out or just running certain errands. I was surprised by the large, clear display and many adjustment options, and the self explanatory buttons on TV and remote. My only recommendation is to use a better antenna than the one that comes with the unit. A set of very inexpensive rabbit ear antennas (99 cent store) worked exceptionally well for this purpose. Auto scan pulls in both analog and digital signals well (I live in a major city). I highly recommend this, it's hard to beat at any price.Digital camera Review: Better than I expected

I definitely do not have any technical knowledge of televisions, but I received this tv today and it is way better than expected. The size of the tv is perfect to sit right on my nightstand beside my bed. The tv comes with an antennae, however, you can also hook up a normal cable line to it. I chose to use the cable hookup. When I turned the tv on the 1st time, it was all ready to scan the channels into the tv...all I had to do was hit "yes" and "enter." Within a few minutes, I was watching television with ease. The sound quality is great for a handheld tv. I also love that it comes with an power adapter for your car so you can take the tv with you. Overall, I am completely happy with this tv. I've been searching for a small digital TV for my bathroom due to the digital transition. There are not many on the market and most have not had good reviews. I bought this thinking I was taking a chance and have been very pleasantly surprised. It does not work with the accompanying "rabbit ear" antenna - cannot pull in the stations sufficiently with it, but it works great when attached to our cable system. The picture is excellent, sound is fine too. It's sturdier than some of the others on the market and is perfect for a very small space, such as a bathroom, kitchen, or maybe small home office. I'm not sure what would happen if it was hooked up to a strong outside antenna. I think it would depend on the strength of the reception and quality of the antenna. I'm not sure why more companies are not making TVs this size, it certainly fills a niche need. Glad Haier has made this.
