I hooked these speakers up to my Macbook Pro and immediately put on something that would give me a chance to see how the speakers performed over a range of notes, tones and instruments; Holst's 'The Planets' was my choice. Starting with Mars and going through the rest of the symphony I was amazed at how rich the sounds were. It took a small bit of tweeking for the sub-woofer to not sound too too thumpy but I am very impressed with this product.
Aesthetically I love them! The clear towers and the gigantic clear bell are very striking on my desktop!
If you're an audiophile who wants good speakers for her computer but doesn't want to shell out just insane amounts of money for them, these are a very good buy for the money. The only negative I have is that in the name of staying with their aesthetic Harman Kardon may have been a bit too clever by half. The volume controls are a bit strange and take a bit of getting used to. However, since I primarily control the volume from the keyboard and not the speakers, this isn't all that much of a pain.
