Digital camera reviews of Harman Kardon SoundSticks II Plug and Play Multimedia Speaker SystemDigital camera Review: Amazing value Summary: 5 Stars
Fantastic value for money.
Awesome sound.
And gorgeous. I couldn't bear to put the woofer under the table.
NOTE: To get full power from the tweeters (treble units), they should point pretty much directly at you. The setup guide does not mention this, but the base of the satelites tilts! You can adjust them so they fit with whatever angle will point them at your head when you sit at your computer.
...Or however you use them. I think think these speakers with an iPod is pretty dang near a substitute for a full stereo, and much cheaper, compact, and usable!
Digital camera Review: Amazing!!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these after reading a few reviews, but really wasn't prepared for how good they actually are. After hooking them up, and finding some good online music sources, they were a true delight. After hearing them I would expect them to cost much, much more than they do. Well worth the money....and more!
Digital camera Review: Amazon Sells Heaven Summary: 5 Stars
Yes, for $110 you can buy a little piece of heaven from Amazon. These speakers are sensational. There is absolutely no way you will find better sound for your PC at this price point...and probably at several times the cost. I'm not going to cite details. Let's just say that everything positive pointed out by other reviewers is true. Buy them!
Digital camera Review: An audiophile could live with these. Summary: 5 Stars
Open soundstage with punchy bass. Stereo separation is ok. Clear, delicate treble. The are the best pair of computer speakers I've personally heard. Better than Bose and JBL Creatures for sure. They happen to look very nice as well. Though there is no power switch and no pass through for the headphones, the sound and looks are more than worth those shortcomings.
Digital camera Review: Another pleased purchaser Summary: 4 Stars
I'll add my praise about the sound of this speaker system as well, although it seems to have gone up in price by nearly 40% since I bought mine one month ago ... I paid a total of about $122 including shipping, and the current price is about $170. I'm happy with this system at $122, and I might or might not consider it to be worth $170.
With that said, for the first couple of days that I used these I thought that they were strongly exaggerating high and low frequencies relative to mid-range frequencies, but I've since changed my mind that this is what was happening. I had rarely been listening to my (much more expensive) living room audio system, and had mainly been listening to the not-very-good, "standard" speakers that came with my PC; I'm now very happy with the performance of the Soundsticks II. The issue was probably that I'd been hearing such-muddled sound from my cheap speakers for so long that when I began to hear a more realistic reproduction of the music, the high and low ranges seemed exaggerated. I'd pretty much forgotten what it's like to clearly hear cymbals and lots of other sounds that this speaker system allows me to again hear.
One thing that I don't like about the system is that the on-speaker volume adjustment is touch-sensitive and gives you no visual indication of the volume setting; a simple knob would be better for me.
