I bought this primarily to convert home videos in VHS format to DVD. So far, it seems to meet my needs. I haven't used it much for watching tv and recording broadcasts, etc. When hooked up to the roof antennae, I get good reception in both analog and hd tv. It works in vista and ubuntu on my laptop, but if you're going to go the linux route, be prepared to spend some time figuring things out.Digital camera Review: Good portable alternative

Great product works with Windows Vista 64-bit without issues. WinTV v6 is fantastic. Recording is seamless. Had to tweak few settings to get good output. Havn't figured out how to get Windows Media Center to use the device yet. Great product on the whole.Digital camera Review: Good product

This product works very well. I couldn't get any signals with the antenna, but I ended up hooking it up to my cable outlet, and it works great. I don't think the software that came with it is very good. It is buggy and freezes up a lot. I use the product with the windows media center, and it works great. I haven't used the recording feature yet, but look forward to being able to record when my favorite programs come on again in the fall. The product is really actually quite good and does as it says. However, there seems to be a small issue with actually getting the product to see all available channels. The channel listing is also restricted to very basic cable.
However the HDTV portion works like a charm. I purchased a better antenna in which to get a stronger signal (the Zenith-ZHDTV1-HDTV-UHF-Digital-Antenna, and it works wonderfully.
The only concern is that the unit, which is VERY small (good) gets VERY hot when in use (bad). Otherwise, I am very happy with this product!
