Digital camera Review: Don't buy MCE edition if you use Hauppauge remote on another tuner!

Tuner works fine, but whenever I install the software it breaks the Hauppauge IR remote of my PVR-350. Unfortunately I did not see this information before when I was reviewing which tuner to add to my system, but I've spent lots of time installing and re-installing drivers and calling Hauppauge tech support to find this information.
I'd give the item a one star rating because I'm frustrated that the information is not out there, but the cards work well outside of this.

This only work if you have Windows Media Center or Vista Home Premium installed. I bought the white box unit because of the FM tuner but I couldn't use it and is taking space on my PC. The software is not available on the Internet, so I don't know how I could use this.
Before you buy it, make sure you have the software or buy it.

We purchased this card, plugged it in to our Windows XP Media Center Edition computer (a Dell) and it just worked. Because this is a well-known brand with good driver support the process was simple.
We purchased the card primarily to hook up a VCR and make DVDs of our children's exploits growing up - all that stuff is on VHS today.
Although Windows XP Media Center Edition is adequate for watching TV and recording (the DVR functions beautifully) we desired better software for creating and managing DVDs. We purchased Easy Media Creator 9 Suite for about $68 and it recognized the card instantly and gave us control over things like from which individual port to capture.

I've owned this card for 1 1/2 years now. I've loved it! It installed easily. Was easy to set up. Works great. (no HD of course) About the only complaint is the software it comes with. WinTV2000 is just very basic. Works, but basic. I installed Beyond TV and realized how much WinTV2000 is lacking.
This thing didn't come with the remote, but I didn't need it. I also like the idea of the AV inputs directly on the card, though I haven't used those yet. Ran great on my AMD64 3400+, 1GB RAM, integrated graphics (since upgraded to 7600GT to handle the HVR-950)
Hauppauge is known for good tuners and this one doesn't disappoint. If you need HD you could combine this with the HVR-950 which I also own now.
