Digital camera Review: Gave this as a gift...
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my mother's birthday in June and she's still raving about them in October. It makes a great gift for anyone who stands on their feet all day.

Digital camera Review: Giving it a shot.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a tailor's bunion on one of my feet, that has been preventing me from doing my usual exercise (which as a desk-dweller, is not good). I had bought a Pedifix GelSmart bunion guard for it, thinking that just relieving the irritation might solve the problem, but apparently that is not going to be the case. While the bunion guard is a MUST for my shoes, the real problem is crooked toes on that foot, so I started looking for something that might help separate them. I considered buying gel toe separators for use in my shoes, but then thought... they look awfully thin. Is that really going to fix anything? So I looked around for other answers, and started seeing these toe-stretchers.

My money situation being what it is (bad), the thought of spending $40 to try the more expensive Yoga brand did not sit well with me. I was skeptical these would do anything for me at all, and judging by the reviews, was not even sure I could wear them long enough to find out. Then there was the question of what size and so forth... at the end of which it might not do a thing for me. Needless to say, I was happy to find HealthyToes had a much cheaper deal on basically the same item. (There were cheaper ones than the HealthyToes ones, but they looked thinner.)

Well, I took the plunge, and got them in the mail just today. I was happy to see that the separators are nice and thick (no pain no gain, right?), and made of a tough 'gel' material that is slightly flexible, but which will still be strong enough to do what they need to do.

First impression: OUCH.

Lots of reviewers have said pretty much the same thing. But then really.... what are you expecting, if you've wrung your toes like a couple of dish rags into confining and ill-shaped shoes all your life, and you suddenly ask them to spread out? Going to the chiropractor also can have an 'ouch' factor... but no 'ouch' ... no 'ahh.' The fact is, these widgets are meant to stretch your toes and feet out. So you can't expect it to feel normal. And if you're buying them to solve some already painful problem, then you probably should get them knowing it might hurt. And while I certainly wouldn't recommend continuing use if the pain is serious, there are a few things you can try before just throwing these out.

Someone else has already said it, but... it's true, so I'll say it again. If it hurts too much, or if you feel like it's cutting off your circulation in your toes, try sliding them toward the tops of your toes. These things hurt my right foot like heck, but after trying that, I felt like I could continue to wear them. And of course, you can also try wearing them for short periods of time, rather than keeping them on. Ironically, my bad foot seems to like them just fine, while my good foot is not happy with them. Go figure. But what this illustrates is what we should already expect... that to some extent, the experience will be different for everybody, and depending on your own feet, you may have to try different things to get them to work for you.

Well, in spite of some initial getting used to or figuring out, I intend to go on using these and see if they help my feet. I'm probably going to take them off in a while, and then put them on again later, unless my bad foot can take wearing it for an extended period of time.

Another thing people need to remember is that THESE ARE NOT MEANT FOR WALKING IN. You're supposed to get off your feet while you do this. So OF COURSE you can't walk in them, or of course it hurts to walk in them!

Results?

Well, I just put them on, but I'll try to update my review if I notice any lasting results or benefits, or when I have some idea as to how or if these are helping me.

Would I recommend them?

So far? Yes, I would. I have a feeling that these will work, because my toes are so squished together on one foot that I think anything between them would do them some good.

I would suggest using these some time when you have a little time to put your feet up, and just forget about them. I would also recommend starting out with a smaller period of time, and then gradually increasing it as your toes get used to them! (I can tell already that wearing them for hours just because you're determined is probably not a good idea.) Of course, as the product manual states, be careful if you have poor circulation or if there is more pain than you might expect with having your toes stretched out. (Instruction manuals are wonderful things, really... lol)

Sizing?

As for the size issue, I always thought of my feet as being pretty big, so I worried that these might be too small, because they SAY small. Really, they're not! I'm somewhere between a 9 1/2 and an 10 1/2 shoe, and if these were any bigger, I probably could not use them. If you have much smaller feet, these might even be too big. So I'm glad I went and got the small like other people have suggested. I can't imagine how big the large ones must be.

Digital camera Review: Good Chew Toy
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought these HealthyToes to avoid paying the hefty $50 for Yoga Toes. My mistake. HealthyToes made my toes numb after less than an hour from wearing them while watching TV. I don't recommend walking around the house in them since the material is not too flexible. Think I'll save up for some Yoga Toes. I'm still going to keep my HealthyToes around, might come in handy as a chew toy.

Digital camera Review: Good for plantar fasciatis treatment
Summary: 5 Stars

I feel much better with stepping on my rigt foot in the moning after a week of using it - I had plantar fasciatis for a year

Digital camera Review: Gotta have happy feet to have a happy body
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this product along with Yamuna's foot savers. The combination is fantastic! After work, I wear my toe spreaders and stand on my foot savers and within 5 min I'm feeling rejuvinated. Not only do my feet feel better, but my whole body feels lighter, I feel more alert, my stride is smoother, my posture is better and my lower back also feels better. I studied some polarity and they say that energy enters the body thru the feet. So take care of your feet!
