Digital camera reviews of Honeywell TM005X Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermo-Hygrometer

Digital camera Review: Good hygrometer and thermometer
Summary: 5 Stars

This item has worked well for me so far. While the base unit and remote sensor did initially disagree when I first turned them on (for both the temp and humidity), they both equilibrated to within a few tenths of a degree and 1-2% humidity difference (I think that's plenty of precision for home use) when I came back the next morning. Even a degree of temperature and +/- 2-3% humidity difference would be precise enough for most people's home use. Now, of course, I have no independent, callibrated thermometer or hygrometer to assess accuracy, but that's another matter. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Digital camera Review: Good indoor/outdoor thermometer
Summary: 5 Stars

This product is very useful and has been dependable in the few months I've had it. It's larger than I'd expected (my previous one was about half the size) but that makes the LCD screen very easy to read from across the room. I highly recommend it.

Digital camera Review: Good product
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoy using this product every day. Accurate to about + or - 2 degrees.

Digital camera Review: Good unit, but some drawbacks
Summary: 3 Stars

Length of ownership: almost 1 year

Pros: Easy to set up and use. Clear readout, even at a distance. Remote sensor successfully and consistently transmits around 25' through 3 walls. Updates readings frequently. Seems to be pretty accurate (if you put it in the right place). Durable and reliable, thus far.

Cons: Capable of having additional remote sensors added, yet they're difficult to find and just as expensive as buying a second base station and remote combo. Remote sensor is made of white plastic, yet quickly heats up in direct sunlight, leading to grossly inaccurate temperatures. Clicking through four channels just to get the outdoor temp is a little annoying. Of course, neither of the previous two problems (outdoor sensor heating and flipping through channels) would be as big a problem if additional remote sensors to place in different locations and fill up the unused channels were even available :P

Notes: I followed the instructions and used Lithium AA batteries for the outdoor sensor, since I intended to have it out all winter. I have yet to change them almost a year later (which I think is pretty good).

Digital camera Review: Good value
Summary: 5 Stars

I have found this item to be accurate and easily read. I bought it to monitor the relative humidity in the room where we have located a fine piano, the tuning of which depends upon the consistency of humidity. I cannot comment upon the remote as we do not use it.
