Digital camera reviews of Hoya 58mm (G SERIES) Circular Polarizer PL CIR FilterDigital camera Review: Excellent Bang for Buck; Serves Amateur Needs Summary: 5 Stars
I received this item just in time for a vacation to the beach. This filter improved - and, dare I say, SAVED - many of my shots. It countered the bright skies and prevented the typical bleached-out look, in addition to deepening blue pigments and increasing the intensity of greens. As an added bonus, I have been able to use it in shady areas for somewhat long exposures, although it does not replace a neutral density filter entirely.
Being my first polarizing filter, I have no others to compare it to. However, it has more than met my needs and I don't believe I could be more satisfied if I'd paid sixty to a hundred dollars for it. Perhaps the minute difference between a cheaper filter and an expensive one would count in a professional's photos, but I achieved the desired effects and much, much more.
Digital camera Review: Falls apart. Summary: 1 Stars
I placed this on my camera. Used if for two days, great pics. BUT, I was removing it and it fell apart, the filter ring, the wire, and the polarizer -- all came apart. Here I am, out of the country and I had to buy another and have it shipped for $35.00. Do not buy this.
Digital camera Review: Fine Summary: 4 Stars
So far so good... It's well made and not cheap, happy with the product and the price.
Digital camera Review: Good Product Summary: 5 Stars
Have always liked polarizing filters and they are great for day shots and scenic items especially with water and sky shots. Hoya to me is one of the better filter makers.
Digital camera Review: Good filter for the money Summary: 5 Stars
I live in Vegas and this filter is a must because of bright sunlight. Filter was a little more expensive but still reasonably priced. Hoya makes a great filter and is highly recommended for the price.
