Digital camera reviews of INSTEN Folding Stereo Speaker - BlackDigital camera Review: Battery Summary: 4 Stars
The speakers are very good trust me but when you turn it on the light that indicates that the speakers are on is very strong you can actually use it as a flashlight and therefore the battery goes out so fast. Other than that the speakers are great!
Digital camera Review: Be warned - no electrical plug comes with this unit Summary: 3 Stars
The sound is good for being so inexpensive - however, it wears out batteries pretty quickly, and pulls down the sound quality as well. And there was no electrical cord that came with it. It does have a plug that you can plug one in; however, no information on what kind to purchase separately?
I had another darn mini speaker setup and it was the same thing - says "DC - 6V" so can anyone tell me what / where I can purchase a cord for this?
Just be warned this little unit comes battery -operated ONLY; and eats up AA batteries like my granddaughter eats up green peas [that's realll quick!]
Digital camera Review: Best $10 i ever spent Summary: 5 Stars
This thing is great. Its loud for its size and has good sound quality. Batteries have lasted at least 16 hours so far and i like to blast my music. The only down side is it doesnt come with an A/C adapter but if you have the ipod one with the removable cord you can use the included USB cable and that plug and your all set.
Digital camera Review: Best 10$ you will ever spend. Summary: 5 Stars
First of all let me say how very happy I am with this product. This is the most compact and convient product for 10$ I have ever purchased. It was alot smaller than i thought it was gonna be which is perfect for what I wanted to use it for, which was work. The sound is amazing for its size. Its not a boom box or a stereo system but for 10$ it is well worth it. I am more than happy with my purchase and have recommended it to many people already and will continue recommending it.
Digital camera Review: Best in its price range Summary: 5 Stars
Pros:
- Analog volume control lets you adjust volume on the speakers directly.
- For speakers of this size and price, they can get very loud.
- DC input with included USB cable lets you power the device from a laptop, no batteries required.
- Pretty decent quality.
- Cable is long enough to accomodate any device.
Cons:
- Not the best quality--but if you want better quality, you'll need to look at a much more expensive unit.
- Unfolding them involves taking the "nest" plate off the bottom. If you want to rest your iPod in them, you have to flip it and put it back on again.
- Runs on 4 AAA batteries, a bit much for portable speakers.
- "Nest" accomodates only smallish MP3 players. Not useful for my eBook reader.
Overall:
- I've tried many, many low-end portable speaker systems, and the only other good one I've found is the Coby Travel Speaker System. That one has slightly better sound quality, but no volume control. If your MP3 player puts out a lot of sound without external amplification and fits in the Coby, that's an excellent choice, but if you need a bigger boost or have a larger player or a laptop, go with these.
