Digital camera reviews of IOGEAR USB 2.1 Bluetooth Micro Adapter (GBU421)Digital camera Review: A Waste Summary: 1 Stars
The price was very reasonable, which is the basic reason I ordered it. For me the product was not even worth the reasonable price. Indications are that the software supplied would not install in it's entirety. As a result the product will not work properly. The BlueTooth program will recognize my computer but will not recognize any of my other BlueTooth equipment making it impossible to 'pair' with them. Consequently, it is useless.
I contacted support and they offered several suggestions, none of which worked. I quit trying at that point.
Digital camera Review: A device that actually works Summary: 5 Stars
Just as advertised this device works without flaw. Installation is a breeze and setting up multiple devices has never been easier. I would reccommend this product again and again.
Digital camera Review: A fine little (really, really little) USB bluetooth adapter Summary: 4 Stars
This item is a great addition to my vista laptop. I currently only use it for connecting my noise-canceling headphones. The adapter is out of the way so I never have to take it out of the USB port and then find a good place to store it - it's just always there. It seems to have created a problem with something called "HID DATA". So far this only means that I get occasional nuisance messages from windows telling me HID DATA has stopped working. But what would I expect - It's Windows. Someday I may try to troubleshoot it but for now I'll just close the messages and move on.
Digital camera Review: A good gift Summary: 5 Stars
This was a gift for my husband. He researches things in depth, then puts them on his 'wish list'. I purchased this for him, he plugged it in, and everything worked great.
Digital camera Review: A great little BT adapter... Summary: 5 Stars
I have a Blackberry 8830 and bought a set of BT headphones and a 4GB MicroSD for it to be my MP3 player. So I thought "why should I keep another set of headphones for the laptop?" I bought the IOGear and it installed on my laptop running XP Pro with ease. I turned off most of the functions as well as the discovery mode once I got everything paired and have been nothing but pleased with it. I can wander around my office and it works for pretty much as long as I have line of site or just thin cubicles walls in the way. Once real walls or metal filing cabinets come into play, I start to lose the signal, but the headset only advertises 6 feet, so I'm very happy with the adapter extending the range to well over 15 feet.
I can't speak for Vista as I'm a late adopter (have Vista and the latest beta on laptops at home, but not my production machine), but it really was easy to install on XP Pro SP3.
