Digital camera reviews of IOGEAR Wireless-G High Speed USB 2.0 Adapter GWU523

Digital camera Review: It does not work in Win 7 64-bit
Summary: 1 Stars

There are no drivers available for this device to work with win7 64-bit. It keeps giving me problems when I used the driver that is provided.

Digital camera Review: It is as you would hope for!
Summary: 5 Stars

Load the software, plug it into a USB port, and you're ready to go! Small size, easy install, good wireless signal pickup. Good price. All the things you could ever want!

Digital camera Review: It works!
Summary: 4 Stars

This adapter is pretty small like a regular thumb/jump/flash-drive. Roughly 2 1/4" x 1" x 1/4" including the usb end. It is currently working with my belkin wireless router and is really covenient considering I didn't want to open my cpu and install any hardware. The software could have been better though, it looks almost user-unfriendly, but it really have all the basic necessities used to configure the adapter. A newbie may be turned off by the software but as long as you can read, and know what to configure, you should be OK! No problems so far!

Digital camera Review: LOVE IT! Works with Windows 98!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm still using my laptop that I bought in 2001, and it's running Windows 98. I ordered the IOGEAR Wi-Fi 54g USB Adapter from Amazon.com. I used the CD-ROM to install the drivers. Then I put the adapter in the USB slot. It quickly picked up our home's DSL signal (from AT&T) plus other signals that are floating around. Wow! That was easy. But ... even though the Iomega adapter was picking up our DSL signal, I had trouble configuring the Iomega software to connect to the internet. (Every time I'd open Mozilla, I'd get the "page not found" etc.) I almost gave up hope, but then I figured it out ... I needed to selected "SHARED KEY" to successfuly connect to our home DSL connection. AND THEN IT WORKED!!! Hurray! I've been playing internet radio continuously for hours while working on my term paper, and the connection hasn't broken up at all. Yahooo!

I have since used the adapter with my laptop to pick up wi-fi hot spots at cafes. Now I've tried it with my desktop computer running Windows XP. The desktop computer is in one room, there are two rooms in between, and the the DSL wireless router is in the 4th room. The iomega adapter still picks up the signal from my desktop. SUCCESS! So I am here buying a second adapter so that I keep one plugged into my desktop, and another to go with my laptop.

Digital camera Review: Linux compatible and an exceptional value
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this adapter because I am using Linux [...] on my computer, and this Iogear adapter is Linux-compatible. The performance is excellent, and it is a very good value. Highly recommended!
