Digital camera reviews of IOGear Enhanced Data Rate Bluetooth USB Adapter with Range up to 66 ft. GBU221Digital camera Review: Win7 64 bit with Palm 700p AOK Summary: 5 Stars
When I upgraded from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit, I was disappointed to learn that my Palm 700p had no driver and couldn't use USB sync (shame on you, Palm). The only solution is to go to bluetooth.
I bought The IOGear BT adapter based on reviews saying it worked in Vista64. When it came in I just plugged it in and waited. Within a few minutes, Windows had discovered and installed the necessary drivers (I've had very good luck with drivers on win7). I did not use the CD that came with it. Nothing easier than that. Great product, IOGear!
Before you pair your Palm, and this was key, update to the current Palm desktop (available from Palm free online) and change your HotSync settings (look for Connections, bottom-left of the settings window for HotSync Manager 7.0.2). I found that selecting "Bluetooth" as a sync method was not sufficient - sync never activated on the PC. As soon as I added "Serial" to the list, the next sync worked. I'm not sure where I found this, but that was the missing piece for me.
To get the Palm paired and working took several attempts for me. I'd recommend going into the windows Bluetooth settings and making your PC visible, then setting up from the Palm (for security, turn off visibility after you're done pairing). Wait for it to recognize your PC's name, not just "unnamed computer". On the Palm, ignore & hit "next" thru the steps in the wizard about setting up a serial port - not relevant to Vista/Win7 (thanks, kimoeagle). If your Hotsync settings are right and the pairing takes, you'll be syncing.
Sync is slower on Bluetooth, so be patient - at least it works, and obsolescence is held at bay a little longer. By the way, if you use PocketTunes, that still works via USB (I have Rhapsody and needed that to get my to-go tunes). Good luck!
Digital camera Review: Windows 7!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Read several reviews & ordered it to install on new HP Pavilion w/windows 7 to pair w/bluetooth headphones! Quick & easy to install, didn't even need to enter codes as I'd read about. (not really a code, just misc numbers from what I read). I installed the mini-disk, plugged in the adapter when prompted & like magic, it connected. Once installation completed, go to control panel & add device with fully charged headphones in paring mode. I'm listening to it right now. Distance says 300'. Not that I got tape measure out but I went downstairs w/no problems in our 1800 sq ft house. (computer centrally located in house) I'd say go for it!
Digital camera Review: Worked like a charm Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this to transfer pictures from my LG 600 Net 10 phone to my computer. Installation was a piece of cake with the drivers CD for Windows XP. Getting my phone to acknowledge the computer was more challenging- never having done this before. Once I figured it out the transfer was no problem. The only drawback I can see is that the dongle does not come with a cover or cap for the USB connection end.

Product works great. Plug & play. Did not need to use the installation CD included with the product. I am using it for Skype with Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system and Plantronics 640 headset.
Plugged the IOGEAR adapter into my PC. The PC immediately recognized the adapter and started installing the driver. I then clicked on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and added my Plantronics 640 device. Couldn't have been any easier.
Only problem I haven't figured out yet is why I can't go back and forth on the Plantronics 640 between my cell phone and PC/Skype. Can't seem to dual pair the headset with the PC and the cell phone. But that might be a limitation on the Plantronics headset, not sure. The Plantronics 640 works great paired alone with the IOGEAR adapter. Now I can ditch the corded, bulky headset I was using for Skype.
Would definitely recommend the product.
