Digital camera Review: A good way to get rid of your CDs

The Disc Stakka hardware is not well enough engineered to allow it to hold up over time. With only very light usage, over a couple of years, it started having problems ejecting discs. At first I thought I would need to destroy the unit to get my CDs out. I would request that a disc be ejected and after what sounded like an attempt to do so I would get the message:
OpdiTracker has detected an error while trying to eject a disc from the Disc Stakka unit. Ensure there is no obstruction in the gate, and then try again. If this condition persists, there might be a problem with the Disc Stakka hardware (20000001A)
The condition did persist and I found no help on the support Web site. The product's hardware diagnostics would run with no problem. I was running version 2.21.1085 of OpdiTracker Pro. The support site indicated I was up to date. Sending an e-mail request for help resulted in no response from the support group.
By running the "verify function" numerous times I was able to get CDs out of the unit. Each time I ran the function I would get a few CDs ejected. However, it is not clear that they all came out so I will no doubt have to take the unit apart before I throw it out.
The concept sounds good and thus I was drawn in to purchasing the product (I had a good regard for Imation back then). However, I expect the reality is that the product will not hold up over time. My recommendation is to look for another solution for managing your CD storage and don't waste your time and money on OpdiTracker and the Disc Stakka unit.
