I have an E0 chip and have OC-d this to 4.979Ghz on a DF X48 mobo using 1150 Mhz GSkill DDR2 memory. Outstanding overkill as the RAM couldn't handle the IO. Recently the stock Heat Sink Fan (HSF) locking mechanism failed and the CPU temp went beyond 95'C causing repeated shutdowns until I discovered the issue. After re-locking it's back to running at 49'C - 59'C. I'm ordering an aftermarket HSF as the stock one uses a poor lock design. Wow, a huge leap forward from my Pentium 4 3.0GHz. I put it in a new Shuttle SG31G2S barebones system with 2GB of RAM. Speed demon. Highly recommended. Encodes video incredibly fast. Runs very cool.
I considered a more expensive Quad Core, but not sure I'd get any additional benefit since most applications can't really take advantage of it. I'm more than pleased with my choice.

It easily overclocked to 3.69ghz. Idles at 35c and operates at 42c at 90% load.
Only gripe is Amazon shipping. Took almost three weeks before I received my processor. Will I buy from amazon again, no, I will spend the extra 5 dollars on another website for shipping than save the few bucks here for free shipping.

It simply does well. I believe it does better with the programs that are written for dual channel CPUs than AMD did. Front side bus handles 1066 dual channel memory on the Gigabite board, and that makes the chip even better. I bought and installed MS 7, and boy does it do well with that Operating System. I think it will be a really good, stable, long term system.
