Digital camera Review: Iomega FW/USB Mini 160 GB HD
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this item about 4 months ago! It has been really great! I use it with my 2006 Model Apple 17" PowerBook G4. I take a lot of pictures with my 12 Megapixel Canon 5D and I'm running out of space even with the original 120 GB hard drive of this fine Laptop computer.

*** What I Like about it (PROS)
1. Requires no power adapter or AC Cable
2. Firewire works fine with some computers where the standard USB does not provide sufficient power
3. Includes the $20 double USB cable for computers like mine that does not provide enough USB power
4. It's silver and a prefect match for Apple PowerBook and MacBook Pro computers
5. Drive is bootable with a Mac, so you can install another operating system (I run Leopard 10.51 from the computer internal HD, and Tiger 10.4.11 from this External Drive
6. Heavy duty Firewire cable.
7. Nice Blue light that shows Drive activity.

*** What I Don't Like about it (CONS)
NONE or perhaps FW cable is a bit too long.

I originally purchased the WD Passport 120 GB Drive, but using it was a problem. It never worked with the above mentioned Laptop without additional power. I used a powered USB hub and connected the Western Digital Passport to it to make it work. Although this drive has the same issue if used with a USB cord (mini to Standard), this IOMEGA provides 2 solutions to this problem: 1) it provides the double USB cable that should have been included with the WD Passport and wasn't, and 2) it works fine when you use the FireWire Connection. Problem solved and I'm happy with this product.

Digital camera Review: Iomega Portable Hard Drice 160 GB 33749
Summary: 5 Stars

To date this hard drive has operated superbly. Easy to install and excellent for my system which includes 3 computers at different places. Before I had difficulties keeping files up to date on each computer. Now I have a disk which plugs into each computer and I utilize the same material.

Digital camera Review: Iomega Portable Hard Drive
Summary: 5 Stars

This little drive is great. It works fast from the firewire powered bus, and fits in my pocket. There are very few wires to carry around since it is powered by the firewire, or USB cable alone. Its a good disk size (160 GB) for a portable disk. I wouldn't want to keep too much on a drive that I'm carrying around with me. But it is large enough to use for video editing on single projects at a time. I would recommend having a larger stay at home drive, preferably with dual firewire ports in order to chain the drives, to transfer finished projects to when ready to start a new one.

Digital camera Review: Small and reliable
Summary: 5 Stars

This drive has a very small footprint, and installed seamlessly on a Windows XP machine as a backup drive - I didn't even have to install the software on the enclosed CDROM. Also, it showed up remotely (using Go 2 My PC) immediately after install and has never failed, after about five weeks of constant use. That's quite a nice combination. Superfast install, reliable, and small footprint. This would even make a suitable audio drive (for smaller projects). I'd buy another one if I need this size again.

Digital camera Review: So Far So Good on Mac Powerbook G4 12"
Summary: 5 Stars

Sleek and working fine. No issues powering of the firewire port on an older G4 powerbook.
