I've had this for several months and it truly is a rugged unit. The quick usb connect had better than average transfer rates on most computers - you can plus one or both in depending upon need. Convenient size, nice sheen that is easy to keep clean. Fits into purse, pocket, glove compartment or anyplace you might want to take it with ease. I've used Iomega products since the zip drives [remember those big breakthroughs!!!] and this seems to follow in the same solid footsteps of dependable but cost effective. Fantastic little insurance policy for anyone on the go or just for those that need a bit of extra assurance their costly digital effects are in order. You can pay more - but why? I'm not a techi by far but I am getting there. What can I say? I'm a girl who loves gadgets and I love the ease and functionality of the cool looking IOmega. I simply needed something to hold my itunes, pics and documents. And shall I say, I will have this for years to come. I highly recommend this. Received the Ruby Red Iomega 320 eGo Portable hard-drive from Amazon in very short order (typical for Amazon) and found: 1) the drive was packaged well (to decrease likelihood of shipping damage); 2) the drive was easy to install/format; and 3) transfer times are certainly sufficient for my purposes, and I almost immediately transferred nearly 100 Gigabytes (Gigs not Megs) of data without any delays or problems (I have used the stored data extensively and have not detected any recording errors).
As I almost always find with electronic products, I could have purchased the product nominally cheaper from some other website but Amazon's willingnesss and ability to resolve, both quickly and satisfactorily, any issue that might arise keeps me coming back to Amazon.
I recommend this product but it is always important to fully understand the details of what a product can and can not do and evaluate your own needs before relying on someone else's recommendation. For instance, in this case I use the drive exclusively with Windows XP and Vista so I have no inpout on how the drive might function in a MAC environment.

I had been looking for a portable hard drive for some time when I decided to check out some reviews myself. The Iomega came in way above everyone else for durability. Now I am not planning on driving over my new drive with a truck or anything, but just in case I drop it and something stupid does happen, it is nice to know that this thing will be good to go! It is also really cute - bright red and small. But it is easy to use and holds plenty of data.
