Digital camera reviews of Iomega eGo USB 2.0 320 GB Rugged Portable Hard Drive (Ruby Red)

Digital camera Review: Nice USB drive
Summary: 5 Stars

The drive construction feels like quality. It is nice that the drive draws its power from the USB connections, therefore, not requiring a bulky AC/DC power supply to lug around. The read/write time seems good, just a little lag on accessing the drive. Very nice accessory.

Digital camera Review: Nice and portable
Summary: 4 Stars

I read a lot of bad opinions about this drive, all of them after I confirmed my purchase :-( . Anyway, the drive is performing really well. The main problem I read about was the "double USB connector": I tested the drive in 3 PCs and none of them needed the extra power of the second USB connector, being enough with only one.
The only two things for withdrawing a star are the micro-USB connector in the drive being in the same side of the activity led, so I can not see the led when I connect the drive through one of the rear USB ports in my PC, and because the Retrospect software is very, very bad. (I am right now using the drive to do images of the disk with DriveimagXML)

Digital camera Review: Nifty little thing
Summary: 5 Stars

I've only had this thing for a few days now, and so far it's been pretty good to me. I have the 500GB version of this little thing, and I feel better knowing that my stuff will be safe in it. The first time I had it download my stuff it took forever (or maybe an hour), since I had a lot of stuff for it to take in. Now it doesn't take nearly as long to store in in. My only little concern is that time machine has given me a notice that it failed to download twice now. But just clicking on the application to download again solves that problem easily.
I choose the Iomega from the Western Passport Digital, because even though it was the more expensive one, it also had the best ratings, and better customer reviews. If you're willing the give out a little extra cash to get a run for your money, Iomega is probably your best bet.

Digital camera Review: Not for Windows 7, 64 bit
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a great portable storage unit with one exception: it doesn't work with (2) Windows 7, 64 bit systems in my company. I have (1) eGo 320GB and (2) eGo 250GB hard drives. I tried getting help from Iomega with no luck. My computer IT guy couldn't get them to work either. They still work great with my other Windows XP, 32 bit systems. You won't be disappointed as long as you keep them away from 64 bit systems.

Digital camera Review: One word:
Summary: 5 Stars

Awesome. Nice looking, lightweight, functions intuitively, plenty of room to back up all the computers on our home network and store all media files separately. Great price too!
