Digital camera Review: Big sound but 2 Stars
My problem is that the "touch" sensitive volume controls on the little speakers gets stuck, either too loud or no sound at all.Oh yeah, you can't do anything to FIX the problem. So, Get a good deal, and then not be able to use them. Ever ask yourself WHY the price deal??? Now you know why!

I worked for years in broadcasting, and once owned a recording studio - that doesn't make me an expert, but I have heard some really good (and bad!) audio systems over the years. About the only thing I would do to improve this little gem is to give it another control - so you can adjust the midrange a bit instead of trying to balance treble vs base and still have good mids at varying volume levels. It also seems to me that the base control is labeled backwards. Odd. Otherwise, dollar for dollar, it would be really hard to beat JBL's Creature system. My computer hasn't sounded this good since another system (different brand) was accidentally destroyed. I started top go back to the same system I had, but got a great deal on this one. My old one, admittedly, blew the doors off this one - but it also cost quite a bit more. Yes, you can get a better sound system for your computer or other personal audio player, but most people really would not notice much difference. THese speakers are absolutely awesome in performance, looks and price. I think the $37 must be a typo, so buy these speakers before someone notices!
I've wanted these speakers since they came out, but always had other $ priorities. I'm glad I waited.
One note: Look at the instructions! I set these up out of the box and was very dissapointed with the volume level. I had iTunes cranked to 11 and the sound level was weak at best. I grabbed the manual and lo-and-behold, there are touch sensetive volume controls on the satelitte speakers... D-oh! Anyway, now cranking it up to 11 blasts me (and my neighbors) out of my seat..

I work in radio and am a bit picky about my audio. I love these speakers. They're cheap-Supposedly they retail at about $100, but i've never seen them advertised for that. Ever. Shop around. Everyone has a deal on them-just find the best one.
The design is lovely, the sound can surround you. The little LEDs illuminate your desk (although you don't really see the one on the big base unit because it's supposed to illuminate the wall behind it or something and it just doesn't work out that way.
I have them in red. They come in lots of colors.
You can plug them into your computer, your ipod... whatever your little heart desires really.
The downside? wires. oh my lord the wires. there are a lot of them. That's a bit of a problem, but you probably have a million other wires on your desk too so what's a few more?
