The JBL On Stage II fulfills every expectation. Hardly bigger than a breakfast roll, it packs easily in a carry-on and yet delivers a big,solid, clean full sound that can fill a good-sized room without any distortion or overload in the climaxes of loud music. In addition, it keeps the iPod charged during regular use which is great convenience on trips. I am completely satisfied with this remarkeable little performer. Honestly, it took about 10 minutes (mostly extracting the unit from the packaging) to determine this was a return item. If you have decent ears, you'll probably be disappointed. Poor bass, mushy sound. Not recommended.Digital camera Review: Love this dock!

I was pleasantly surprised with the JBL On Stage II Speaker/dock. The audio output is awesome for its size; clear with deep bass tones. Probably due to its Harmon Kardon technology. The remote is convenient.
The dock adapters included do not include a size for my Nano Gen3. However, the Universal dock adapter that's included with Nano purchase fits perfectly.
Also understand the newer OnStage IIIs have a battery option which would make the speaker even more portable.
All-in-all an excellent product.

It's a lot louder then you'd expect from it's size. Don't count on getting a lot of bass from pop/rap songs. We took it to Mexico and around the pool it gave off plenty of great sounds. I wish it had an FM reciever, but not a big deal. Use it almost every day in the bathroom.
