Digital camera Review: Fits Most ipods; but there's a hack around that.

The box says "music station for all ipods" it doesn't fit the shuffle (but read on if you have a shuffle and want the speakers anyway). It says that you need a special adapter for the 20G color ipod but the 30G adapter works fine. The "adapters" are just little plastic boxes that fit on the back of the part that you plug in the ipod, so basically if you can't find the adapter you can just plug in the ipod and be careful to not press on it hard when changing songs.
*An advantage is that the speakers come with a small adapter cord that allow you to connect the ipod with the speakers and not use the charger feature. This means that you can use it for ANY audio device with a standard headphone jack. Thus you can use it with the ipod shuffle, old walkmen, CD walkmen, non-apple mp3 players... it is shocking but true. I keep mine at work and we all take turns plugging in our various audio devices.
Sound quality is great for a small speaker. The bass is surprising. The speaker is light weight but the adapter weighs about as much as the speaker does.

This unit is easy to use and sounds good for its size. However, it freezes my iPod every 10 songs or so, making it completely unusuable. I'm not the only person with this problem. For such a small speaker, it can really belt it out! I like the fact that I can use my Dell DJ and my husbands iPod with this system. (Although it's really designed for the iPod. The dock will charge the iPod, and the remote does not work on any other MP3 players. You can only adjust the volume with it). Just plug it in anywhere. I put it in my kitchen when I'm cooking, or take it to camp and listen to it on the beach.Digital camera Review: Good value

This is a cute, compact device that sounds decent and is reasonably priced. It sounded much better than comparably priced iPod speakers I tested.
Of course the sound quality of the JBL On Stage II does not compare with much more expensive and much larger systems such as Apple's iPod Hi-Fi and Bose's SoundDock. But for our needs it fit well. Small, convenient, adequate sound, and easy on the wallet.
