Digital camera reviews of JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (White)

Digital camera Review: "Noise Reducing" -- oh please.
Summary: 2 Stars

I ordered these earbuds to replace my very solid Apple earbuds because they were advertised prominently as "Noise Reducing Earbuds!" Upon receipt, I quickly opened the package, anxious to try this cool technology to block out noise, as I own several medium and full sized noise-cancelling headsets, which is a misnomer in truth because I've yet to find a set that truly cancels outside noise vs. masks / reduces it. Before trying, I looked at the package that explained that the earbuds block out noise because they are, well, in your ear. There was no noise reducing technology, just normal mechanical reduction from putting something in your ear, similar to a tissue, q-tip or earplug. As a CEO of an agency, my immediate reaction was "shouldn't these guys get sanctioned for misleading advertising?" All headsets, earplugs, etc. are noise reducing to some extent...but to use that as a headline or focus on that "supposed benefit" in ad copy is just plain sleezy. Kept them because it wasn't worth the hassle of returning, but don't use them as my Apple earbuds are significantly better in any case. JBL has earned a rare entry into my personal hall of shame. Maybe I should have simply bought a box of Kleenex...would have been less expensive and at least I could have also serviced my sneeze while listening to music.

Digital camera Review: 15 months of light use -- one earbud is dead
Summary: 1 Stars

The title says it all. For "light" use substitute 1x week. IMHO, unacceptable.

Digital camera Review: 5 Stars on the Value Meter - play with your EQ for Best Sound!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these to replace the original buds that came with my Ipod. All in all for $15 bucks I can't complain, there comfortable, the sound is pretty clean with respectable bass. What I did discover was my EQ menu on my ipod. When I shuffle songs and go from rock to acoustic or even blues I wind up playing with the EQ settings on my ipod. Going from Nirvana on the default EQ setting to Lyle Lovette - well Lyle sounds like he's singing in a shoebox. The R&B setting on the EQ works the best for my taste if I am in shuffle mode and do not want to mess with my ipod all the time. If you buy these and are finding your favorite artist doesn't sound quite right play with your mp3 player's eq and see if that helps.

Digital camera Review: A Good Buy
Summary: 4 Stars

The headphones were good, but they weren't as nice as I had thought they would be. For the price, I would definitely recommend this product, but they don't reduce noise very well. This is a decent product overall and I would buy them again. They aren't the best pair of headphones, but for the price and overall quality, they are a good buy.

Digital camera Review: A WARNING FOR ALL...
Summary: 2 Stars

Where sound is concerned, the headphones are mediocre. They do a good job of blocking outside noise, though. My biggest concern with this product is that...they break easily. I've bought two so far, each one broke within 30 days, despite my extra care when handling them - they broke for what seems like no reason. By "broke" I am referring to whenever I tough the headphone jack, even if it is the slightest touch (sometimes I don't need to touch it at all), the left or right speaker goes out. So I have to constantly fiddle with it to get the sound back, which is quite difficult to do; almost impossible. Basically DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
