Summary: 3 Stars
I've used these close to daily for about 6 weeks and am very pleased. I had cheaper J-buds before, which failed after about 3 months of use. These buds (so far) seem to be far higher quality in terms of construction.
The connections to the jack and the buds feel solid. The sound is not amazing, but I'm not an audiophile, so maybe they are better than I appreciate. They are very comfortable in the ear. They are part of my daily commute and I use them when running - no problems with either. They don't really block external sound - in my opinion that is a good thing, I'm less likely to get hit by a car!
Quick summary - worth $30 for sure. At $30, I'd give 5 stars for performance to date. At $80 - I'm not so sure, how long will they last and are any buds worth $80?

Suddenly they stopped working properly - still sound comes out in both ears but muted, particularly the vocals. Some songs you almost only hear as instrumentals.
I originally thought the mp3 player had the problem, but checked it out and confirmed that it is the j-buds.
A bit disappointed, I've bought replacements some Coby Jammerz and Skullcandy. I don't expect cheap earbuds to last forever, but these did seem like v good quality when I got them originally (paid around $30, now they're $15). I think they got about 5 months of near daily use. (I generally buy a couple of sets of earphones at the same time because I tend to lose them before they break down! These were my second pair, having lost the first.)
