Last year I purposely ripped the cord. Reason being the cord kept getting caught on things whenever I bent forward to do something. So my fault. The second time the wire gave out in a short time (few months), probably due to the way it was forced to bend at a right angle from my case when I went running. I decided to buy these again because they offer good sound quality, there is fair noise reduction, and they are well priced. I bought Adidas Senn 680's to run about with and now I tuck the cord under my shirt and my life with headphones has never been happier.Digital camera Review: 5 Stars for Customer Service

I bought a pair of these ear buds as an upgrade to the stock buds that came with my MP3 player. They were a significant improvement in fit, sound quality and outside noise reduction. I was able to comfortably listen to music while working out in a gym at a much lower volume level due to outside noise reduction. After about 3 months of regular use one of the ear buds stopped producing sound. I emailed JBuds about the problem, got a response the next day, and had a replacement set in my possession less than a week later. The follow up, customer service, and obvious concern for my satisfaction as a customer was a very pleasant surprise when compared to other consumer companies. Excellent!!! I am very happy with this purchase. The earphones have excellent sound quality and are extremely comfortable. I have a more expensive pair of Bose and these have them beat. The bose do have a little better base, but the J2's stay in your ear. You cannot go wrong with these.Digital camera Review: A Screaming Good Deal

I've had several pair of the cheaper JBuds, and have always been pleased with the sound quality. They didn't last very long, but then they were priced to be disposable.
The J2s are definitely a step up, in both sound fidelity and the quality of construction. Although these are still lightweight ear buds, they have a more solid, well-built feel than the original JBuds.
These have the straight 3.5 mm connector, which works best for devices (iPods) that have the connector on the top or bottom. Devices with the earphone connection on the side (Blackberries) do better with an angled, of course.
These ear buds are quite effective at sound isolation, at a fraction of the cost of some products advertised for that purpose. Yet they are quite comfortable, and can be worn for long stretches.
You can't go wrong with these, especially with all the colors to match the new Nanos.
One note for the ear bud manufacturers: more and more devices have microphone capability (the iPod Touch running Fring for example; never mind the new Blackberrys and iPhones). We need more choices in quality ear buds that also have a microphone for voice memos or phone conversations. I just got a Blackberry Bold and will be using that device for an MP3 player as well as a cell phone. I need one pair of buds that I use for both.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase i was a little disappointed with the bass in these earbuds however it did improve a little once I found the correct rubber ear piece to use for my ears.
The ear pieces are easy to remove but they will not pop off in your ear you have to actually try to get them off and when you do they come off with ease.
