Digital camera reviews of JVC CUVD10US DVD Everio Share StationDigital camera Review: Just pay attention to the details of the burner....... Summary: 4 Stars
We got this DVD share station as a wedding gift. My wife and I decided to not have a wedding lunch and keep the money to buy us a JVC Everio Hard Drive Camcorder so that we could have it for our honeymoon and first few years of our new life together. We took some video and burned a DVD with the share station with the DVD that came with the burner. Then we edited a video on our computer and tried to burn it. It didn't work. So, we went out and bought more burnable dvds. I just thought I had some faulty, cheap blank dvds, so we bought some nice sony DVD + RW discs. They didn't work. I got upset and checked reviews online, and all of them were pretty much bad saying that this burner didn't work. Well, the next day, we read the instructions and learned that there is a differance between DVD + R and DVD - R discs. We learned that the DVD + RWs and the DVD - RWs didn't work with the burner, and that it is picky on which brand you use, and you have to make sure that it it is a DVD - R formatted disc. JVC, Sony, TDK, and Verbatim DVD-R discs are the ones that work. Ever since we learned that, all of our dvds have burned perfectly and everything has been great. It was a pain in the butt figuring out what was wrong, but now that it is working, I am very impressed with this burner. I hope that people who have problems with theirs will read this review and try what I suggested before getting upset and returning it.
Digital camera Review: Piece of Junk Summary: 1 Stars
What a horrible piece of junk. Used it twice and then it stopped working. Looked on line for any tips to fix it and found one site that had 30 other people stating they had the same problem. Do not buy this, you will be sorry.
Digital camera Review: Piece of Junk! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought the Everio camcorder and DVD burner in 4/06. Mistake I made was that I didn't try the burner right away - I thought I'd get enough camcorder footage to make my entire first disc, and I'm slow. Anyway, when I finally tried it, every disc I put in the burner was "incompatible." Even the disc JVC packaged with the unit did not work. I returned it to JVC during the warranty period, and they sent it back saying it worked fine. Still, the same "incompatible" message, and now my warranty period is gone. I am really upset about this and cannot keep spending $25 to send it back to JVC and have them tell me it works, much less the money they will now charge me for servicing.
Digital camera Review: Returned this item Summary: 2 Stars
We returned this item. It was a glorified external DVD burner. It was not worth the money.
Digital camera Review: Sounds great but a big let down Summary: 1 Stars
Me and my wife bought the JVC camcorder and burner set up to send dvd's back to my parents because we did not have an computer at the time. At first it worked great then after 2-3 disc in it would pull up the same message unable to formate the disc. We have been throught about 25 disc just to burn off 10. We returned it to get another and it did the same thing. WE thought i might of been a bad batch of disc so we used the one that came with the burner and no deal. I do not recommend this to anyone.
